I don’t understand the activation and port process. I placed my order on Sunday and submit the porting number request.
Now awaiting delivery of SIM card, paid $5 and via SingPass sign up.

1) how to activate manually the SIM card? Put the SIM card into phone and it will activate?
2) but then I receive an email from vivifi asking me not to swap the SIM card in until current telco no signal.
So which is which?

1) Once they have sent their SIM card to you, don't do anything with it. Just keep it.
2) Submit your porting request.
3) Once you notice that your phone has no 4G signal anymore (and it doesn't register on 4G network), replace it with the SIM card they have sent you.
4) Throw away your old SIM card.

If the porting request is completed before you receive your SIM card, then you won't be reachable by phone or SMS until you put in the new SIM card. And of course, no data unless you're using Wifi.

Hi, I'm currently having problem receiving otp sms for some organisations, like getgo, hsbc, boc and qoo10. Interestingly, I managed to receive some otp sms after a few tries. I just ported over from simba to vivifi.

Trying to contact vivifi's help but still waiting. Read that someone had similar problems. How was it resolved?

Thanks!

when did you port over ? usually some ppl with otp should settle in few days ..

If your mobile number is able to send and receive SMS, both locally and from overseas numbers, we recommend contacting the provider of the APP to flag the OTP issue to their A2P providers so that they can look into it.

The porting will only be carried out after you received and activated your SIM. Since you use Singpass, you have to manually activate your SIM card using the link provided to you when the SIM is delivered to you.

It happens (uncommonly) to random people from all telcos when porting from one MNO to another. Either you wait a day or two and hope it sorts itself out, or contact those organisations and feedback to them.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Oh no. It's already 5 - 6 days. Problem is some sms can receive, some cannot. i don't think it makes sense to contact those organisations since I'm not sure what they can do? change their sms broadcast system?

Already contacted vivifi. hope it can be resolved. Else, I may need to change telecom. And I wonder if it will help if I change. Will the problem continue even if I change to another telecom...?

I’ve received the SIM card and activate it online and also “submitted” the porting request.

so now I keep the old SIM card in my phone and wait until no signal then put in the new SIM card?

Just wait until about 2250 hrs tonight. You should get a notification from your current telco saying line has been terminated.

Then, wait until about 0215 hrs. You should see no more signal with your current sim and then slot in the new vivify sim.

It's good to reboot your phone after that to iron out any connection issue with your new vivify sim / network.

The entire porting process will take a few days? Meaning I’m stuck with the temporary number for now?
