New to vivifi. So far so good!

I've ported in from SingTel on 27 Feb, process was smooth. Didn't experience inferiority in reception. No problem receiving OTP from institutions that I have dealings. For calls, I'm using mainly FaceTime & WA so quality is similar to Volte.

As there is no Volte, receiving files via WA or accessing browser during normal calls is a pain.

Damn. Unable to OTP from UOB and OCBC. Have reached out to help desk.

Was going to sign up and port from Giga. Make me scared because I do a lot of financial transactions.

You port in from which telco ?

I was with M1 previously

so far, those with otp sms problems i see in this forum seems to be more common when porting across different networks. some pages back, someone ported from m1 have some issues.

i ported from singtel combo2 to singtel sim only 12 months to vivifi lite. everything worked right from day 1. all my critical essential otp sms were ok from day 1. approaching 6 months now, so far so good.

the key to this whole number porting is the 3rd party central database company which maintains and update all the information for all the telcos and mvnos. and do the actual routing of the sms to the right number. why otp sms and not regular sms ? why can such problems occur in the first place ?

it seems like this process needs to be improved. but as usual, the unfortunate mnvos receive all the bad news.

Agree. My mum ported over from Singtel. No issues with OTP. And after a few usual questions to get more details about the missing OTP, total silence from Vivifi help desk since noon.Seems that I can't do any banking and online purchases over the weekend. Sian

Ported from Giga here.
Day 1 port failed... So had to do 2nd time.
2nd time ok. 11pm giga stopped working.. about 2am next day number changed.
Now unable to receive otp from Google, xiaomi, but haven't tried others...

Will wait until next week to see if can receive then.

*Update* otp start to receive already around 3pm, same day after ported.

For people who ported to vivifi from Singtel postpaid, could you please describe what problems (if any) you've experienced since you've been using it?

Several messages describing SMS problems. Is this a common occurrence or a recent phenomenon?

It's a phenomenon that happens randomly on all MVNOs.

Ahh, there is some misreading here. Likely it's the way I had phrase the sentence.

1. I have made a request to SingTel for early contract termination (end date 1 Sept 2021).
2. SingTel agreed that I can terminate without paying any fees - CSO sent an email to confirm our agreement.
3. Register a line with Vivifi with port in request (3 Mar collecting SIM card).
4. Assuming everything smooth -- wait for SingTel final bill (with early termination fee as it will be auto generated by system).
5. Reply email to SingTel CSO (received from #2) to omit the early termination fee & pay the balance, if any.

Decided to collect SIM card on Friday 26 Feb instead & porting was successful, but took longer than previously porting from M1 to SingTel. No problem receiving OTP from OCBC, Maybank & DBS.

So now left with partial #4 (final bill from SingTel) & #5.

Got my final bill on 22 Mar & sent the email to the case CSO. Today case CSO adjusted the amount & refunded the balance to me. Have a happy ending with SingTel.

For this promo, does it mean after the 6th month it will go back to $12.98/mth? So for longer than 12 months, the $9.98/mth is a better deal?
