sample size although large is pretty biased...People who come to HWZ are more or less better educated (normal academic at least?)
anyway who knows if MOE actually curves it with a normal curve

imo, PSLE is overhyped la... I seen students with top scores in PSLE who bombed marvellously in O's and A's.

Aiyah, PSLE not a good benchmark of how smart you are. But then now with the IP system, you better do well for PSLE or you can't get into top JCs liao unless you L1R5 is 6 then 2 points+2 points deduction (HC cut off last year was partial 3, then RJC fetter still: 2).

My O levels got L1R5 of 6
I'm in NUS EE now and i'm one of the top students there.
PSLE is a bad gauge. I know a lot of bad PSLE scorers who did well in uni .. and a lot of good PSLE scorers who did badly in uni.. But of course there are good PSLE scorers who do well academically in the end also. Just saying that there is no correlation between PSLE scores and academics in uni ==> therefore PSLE is a bad academic indicator.

apparently not in SG...the mode is more like a high B for Math C..
but I guess if they really want to cut off like top 20% A, too many people actually tie at that 20% mark..so end up most into the grade A bracket
Based on past year statistics, more than 50% of the NATION gets A for Math C...
But Phy, Chem, Bio have more natural normal 'distributions'...30+% of the nation gets A

my primary school classmate got one got more than 270 psle but then at that time he had already started studying secondary school stuff taught by private tutors. so PSLE is nothing to him...

his mother's philosophy is to study 1-yr ahead of his peers.
