MONO intake means posted straight to the combat unit on your first day of enlistment. You will start your BMT at the unit with the sergeant trainers or section commanders for 3 months. After 3 months, this batch will be operational ready. You will be stuck in this unit with the rest of your BMT mates until you all ORD together, and also reservist together. Your rank will not promote higher than corporal first class.mono usually more siong unit selection?
NORMAL INTAKE means straight to BMT school at tekong (my time still got Nee Soon). After 3 months BMT, they will access if you're worthy of becoming a officer, specialist or support unit soldier (armor, signals, engineer, artillery, medics, etc). Then they post you all to different schools (OCS or SCS) or straight to combat support units for your vocations.
OCS and SCS will continue training until they pass out as officer (2nd Lieutenant) and sergeant (3rd sergeant) respectively.
But of course there are always special cases where a MONO intake fellow is so good and well-loved by his superior that he goes on to become sign-on officer during his NSF.
