I'm headed to HCMC soon, could you share which Vietnam tailors you'd recommend please? Thanks!
CMT suit: Binh Tailor, nhut bespoke tailoring/nhut tailor
No CMT suit: Phamtailor, Kim Bespoke
Good value shirts and pants and fast turnaround: Phan's Custom Tailor, August Tailor, Binh Tailor
A dark horse that I have yet to try/inspect shop: Bien Bespoke tailoring
The above shops are all mid-tier in price and good value.
Pls note: imported fabrics are expensive in Vietnam, you will likely get Dolce Taylor fabrics unless the shop stores imported fabric (unlikely at mid-tier shops because very expensive). If you make a suit, suggest making an appointment to check (sometimes shop only 1 tailor can make canvassed suit and the turnaround can be 15 days due to overwhelming demand now that tourists are flocking to Vietnam to tailor), then block your schedule 24 hrs later for basted fitting, then 72 hours later, another fitting, then 24 hours later, collect. So far, I think 6-7 days is the sweet spot for quality unless you want to ship to Singapore, which is pretty expensive. I only CMT suits, and tailor shirts there due to many reasons. If you want imported fabrics, I think you have to factor in the shipping/import time for materials to reach the tailor too. If you want to buy fabrics, check my carousell link

When you enter the shop, look for a big table with scissors and a ruler on it, which means the tailor is a drafter and cutter. E.g Binh Tailor is a drafter and cutter. Same for nhut. Otherwise, the sewing factory is nearby too. Most tailors speak simple English, if their English is bad, they will hire a chio bu or young man who can speak better English.
Cao Minh and Sir Tailor are out of my league but it is a good experience to visit the shops, very posh and better-looking than the shops in Singapore. You can see even the woven label for the suit is hand stitched.
