Yes. The boss is a tailor by training. He can take apart and remake your shirt or trousers if you need to.
just a question, the shirts we tailor, the pleats at the back are more for aesthetics right? cant release it to loosen the shirt abit?

Pleats are an open fold only stitched down on one end, at the yoke. The other end is, as mentioned, open already, i.e. nothing to release.

Darts are stitched-down folds at the back waist area containing excess cloth, so yes, they can be removed to give more room in that area. (I have done this to my own shirts after COVID :'))

(AFAIK)

oops...you are right, the darts 😅
so technically i can unstitch them, and the shirt will become looser right? does anybody do that?
Theoretically yes, but it will alter the cut of the shirt as it was intended. I personally don't like darts because of the aesthetic and I prefer alterations to be done from the seams.

However I'm not sure how much looser the shirt can get if you release the darts.

Best go to a good alterations tailor to seek their opinion.

Hi All,

Just to check if there are any recommended tailors in Hanoi?

Thanks!

Darth looks down on people who tailor in Vietnam. So I have to drop you a private message on this.
Would you trust someone who is so unnecessarily bitchy and insecure? I don't recall having spoken out specifically against people who tailor in Vietnam. YMMV @ke3bbs but paladin has been exposed here before.

Out of the loop - why are y'all fighting
In the previous incarnation of this forum he was a fabric merchant and shill for franken clothes made by the tailor where he conducted his fabric business.

In this current iteration, who knows? But I respond when slandered.

In the previous incarnation, Darth is known for recommending tailors with Low Google reviews ratings and then be defensive and bears a grudge when corrected. Numerous people have exposed/ignored him for his ignorance and mad rush to belittle others.

in the current iteration, his envy and insecurity continue to be shown in his signature.

and to provide context, there was a forumer who asked about tailoring a half canvassed suit with a budget of $400 for his wedding and didn’t mind tailoring in BKK or HCM. Darth‘s reply to forumer was if he was so cheapo with budget of $400, might as well don’t tailor because $400 was lower than the lowest price he could get in Singapore (Sze Sze) , for his minimum level of quality. He thought a $400 budget would compromise quality. But he didn’t visit or research these tailors in bkk or HCM before commenting…..and got exposed for belittling a budget of $400 for tailoring in Bangkok. As expected, that prospective groom did not thank him for his comments. He would have been so disappointed if he had a low budget and was made to believe he could not commission a suit with it.

Nobody cares about your personal grudges. Stay on topic and keep my name out of your mouth.

How tight should jacket sleeves be? When I bend my arms up to fix my collars, it feels quite restrictive

Fit is very personal. Some people enjoy an extremely slim silhouette, however the trade off is the outfit will feel tight to wear.

Personal I don't enjoy wearing clothes that restrict my movement. On a very surface levek, how tight or unrestricted your clothes are depends on the kind of silhouette you are willing to accept!

That being said you can get a very baggy garment which still feels unpleasant to wear if the fit, in relation to your body is very off.

I think that's a good point. For now, it doesn't bother me that much since it's not like I'll be very active in it
