Hi,
I have never tailored shirt before. Intend to do one soon for an important briefing i have to conduct. My requirements is that I dun wanthe plain design. Maybe some intricate designs on the cloth or a bit flowery (not too loud though). Something like ted baker cloth designs.

Any tailors to recommend? Whats the price range? tanks a million in advance.

Alternatively, it would be great if someone can recommend a shop with the widest range of cloth design.

I also interested in making a blazer. slim fit. tapered down at waist level.Any recommendations on a shop. im hoping to do one slim cut with vertical lines down

u may like to try Joe's tailoring @ golden shoe carpark. u can get your suit done there.
floral shirts... not sure if they carry that kinda fabric, u can ask when u're there. else u can go to Tessuti or Dreamland at Peninsula shopping centre to try...
if u're willing to pay 200+ for a shirt, u may like to try Victor York @ Boat Quay for your floral shirts... theres lotsa nice fabrics for u to choose from

U know like those ladies' blouse where it is tapered at the back then can see 2 lines at the back. Ya, like that.

darts are not confined to ladie's shirts... my shirt from Joe's also has that too...
i also got an OTR shirt from kenneth cole with darts too

Pls bear with the poor resolution as the pics are taken with hp only. The colors in the pics seem a little bit more pale than the real thing.

As promised:

If there is anything I want to be fussy, it will be the buttons. No offence, they do look abit cheap.
I think I will be wearing that red & white strips one with a pair of raw jeans on cny. After cny will bring both pcs back to ask them do a better buttons on them.

Something off the topic.
I got someone to customise this trucker cap for me
I gave him a theme and left all the designs and brain cracking to him.

The pink one quite common fabric. But the red & white stripes so far i asked a few stores. At least Dreamland is the only place that bother to dig and dig for me, and then finally found the closest match to what i have in mind.
Actually it would have been perfect if the red is brighter. But thats closest match Amy has liaoz.

not sure if you guys had any shirts made @ leong tailor b4, but they do have a mini factory of 2 to 3 workers at the back alley of their shop-front @ HL building....

its not really mass production - the tailor cuts the textile according to measurements taken by himself, marks the textile, and the folks at the back does sewing....

its from 300 odd bux for a shirt.

i saw an angmoh paying 12k++ for a zegna cashmere wool blazer sort of jacket.... wth, 3 of that can get a car liao....

*edit* its not your sort of trendy trendy style lar... more towards formal biz wear type

HL building = hong leong building?
if yes, think i know which one u talking about... is it the one at the basement?
nv been inside the tailor before but used to go to the cafeteria there... noticed that they occupy a few shop spaces.
12k+ for a suit :o
quality fabrics do have their price... cashmere is not cheap either

actually i think angmohs in general tend to appreciate fine fabric more than asians
singaporeans also tend to neglect their suits, whereas angmoh tend to be more particular on a quality suit.

yup its at the basement, prime space with both escalators leading to its left and right... the 'factory' is on the left alley parallel to the store front (when you're facing the shop from the outside)

the master passed away afew years back, his son(looks slightly above 40 y/o) took over i think....

quite traditional style lar, you walk in will see a huge table with the tailor making markings on the textile with the triangular yellow chalk, those wooden curved rulers thingy...

the fitting room ish like wow.. tamade huge for a tailor shop, and you see no walls lor, just mirrors (minus the carpet and ceiling lars)

thats why...
This fabric quite rare I think.

I tried Personality, Men Traditional and Tessutti. They said no even without thinking twice.

Amy at Dreamland. She thinks for a while, then went ard her store to grab a few matching ones.
This is what I call service.

Those whom visited Dreamland before will understand what I mean.

Anyway, in case there are any female readers in this thread.
Amy does some tailoring for ladies as well. Not sure if tailoring or alterations. Coz I seen some ladies coming in to try out blouses at Dreamland too.

I know. I have made a blouse from Dreamland. However, my blouse will only be ready end of this month.
