Henry,

It is odd that you ask people to look at it openly and yet you dismiss Javier23's experience as "his own thinking".

And for the record, I don't see Javier23 mentioning IDA at all. If using the same fibre network infra and ST is delivering a "poorer" experience, I'm sure non of us are pointing the finger at IDA

think he's quite a character so no point arguing :)

Then look elsewhere.

ST throttles heavily - with even pathetic speeds during the wee hours. Majority of HWZners know this.

VQ so far has not disappointed for me.

Routes/hops shorter & better latency if you game.

What is the max speed you hit in downloading ?

Its 3am+ ...working on 1 of my customers' firewalls and i've just chanced upon this thread:

Since someone is so obsessed about Hawaii Speed tests , here are some speed tests done by yours truly on both Singtel 200Mbps & 300Mbps VQ (since as EDMWers like to say NPNT) - I GPGT for you:

Digitech Solutions LLC - ST

Wiz Technologies - ST

Digitech Solutions LLC - VQ

Wiz Technologies - VQ

Hope this end this Hawaiian debacle.

Please go watch Hawaii Five-0 TV series more on Hulu rather than asking people to run speed tests at Hawaii... its not real world.

Period.

Honetly no offense either, there are alot of things going on behind the 3 big players that you yourself don't even know (unless you work in the infra team) if no - you don't know the half of it.

Please continue to believe the blindfolded pictures the major ISPs put over your eyes, please continue to do so and be mesmerized.

But please do not mislead people with misinformation.

Any organisation can be "well trained" and "open" but what goes on behind - those who worked with them will know.
Bro,

No point reasoning with this chap. He is infamous among this community (and probably a few other). ;)

Honestly for local speed VQ is fast but for international speed is so so only. If u like VQ, can stay with it. In my option, do not think it is so good.

First and foremost do you have both VQ and ST running concurrently? Why everytime there is a pc show and there is always a dick measuring contest going on?

Let's take a chill pill :) for shows at Expo (SITEX & PC Show) for the past year and this year VQ booth has had a live fibernet connection for testing.

I have installed Dota 2 and TF2 too :3

Since you said VQ is better, respect your option. In my option Major isp like M1, Starhub and ST is better.

I already skype my wife and ask her to go VQ to do some test to see how is the network performance. My close friend and neighbour using VQ and can also do all the check at their home. My wife will bring her notebook over.

my 2cents

Among the traffic light ISPs, M1 is the better one. It has decent speeds to Twitch.TV and decent single threaded downloading speeds.
Like one of the bros mentioned, singtel has issues with twitch.tv. $99 500mbps can only stream at medium while my m1's $39 200mbps can stream at source? (screw off singtel)

However if pricing isnt an issue, VQ is still the best choice out there, everything just flies LOL (from the experience i tested at the SLS booth)

Agree M1 is good. My father home is just next door using M1. His router quite near my room just separated by a wall. Can still get a bit wifi signal.

I believe WiFi signal strength is more on the router than the ISPs/RSPs.

+1 to this :s8::s8: .

Just somehow, you know someone, who knows someone, that subscribe to all the different ISP available in SG, using all the different possible configuration . And they all share their experience with you in details.
You must be really helpful.:s13:

Remember in 2010 when 100Mbps just started, it was so expensive.

In April, you said:
That's what I was thinking. Every weekend I went to my father's home to use M1 and look fine. But one day I notice that the ONT and router led light all ok but when I connect using cable, there is no network. Use wi fi also can not connect at all. Switch off and on the ONT and router to reset also no network. I have been testing it for more than 3 mths. Some china sites also got problem. Till now his network still down, more than 2 weeks. My father said will cancel after contract end.

So you/your father moved house ah?
