I only worry when it is time to remove the sp, the glue stains hard to remove like some people previously mention

Refer to my earlier post regarding the glass protector I bought from AliExpress. I just replaced another piece today as I dropped my phone today and the protector popped up at the side .. Try to put it back but got air bubbles so just replaced the whole thing since so cheap.. Their loca is not very sticky, and removal was easy and without stains.. I'm using UAG case the gap between case and glass is very very close.. Hair length close.. Think if I drop again at the corner the glass will popped up again.

how was it? the reviews seem positive.
Finally gave my Taobao screen protector a try and surprisingly it really WORKS. Fingerprint is in full working condition after applying the protector. I dun really have high hope for this protector from Taobao initially. Just following this guide on YouTube: https://youtu.be/r_wT8uLly0s. Please take note that I did not buy the protector from them but just following their steps.

One thing to take note, I used a small piece of blutack to seal off my top speaker to prevent any LOCA glue flowing in.

To add on: due to its price, there is no/very minor Oleophobic coating on the glass.

I think just buy those sets on AliExpress or Taobao that comes with the glue and glass to be safe, or those that specifically says for tgsp

I'm close to 3 weeks in for my Zeelot SP, and no huge issues so far.

Loca glue got different grading one, not all the same. You use the wrong one, then gg.

Not really sure about the grading and I dun think any seller will indicate grading when u buy as a set. So far so good on my set now.
the main difference is the viscosity rating.. there are some blacksheeps on AliExpress or taobao who would indiscriminately supply Loca glue with viscosity that is not suitable for temporary applications like TGSP..

those good ones would appear slightly runny, takes about 1-2 mins to fully spread across the whole screen itself once the glass is placed on the screen. it should adhere well, not lose touch sensitivity and provide a certain degree of resistance against lifting.

if you suay and kena one that is too thick, it will take forever to spread across the screen during application, easy to lift/shift/misalign even after curing, frequent and heavy accumulation of dust/dirt around the edge of the glass and in no time your constant cleaning and wiping to clear those dirt will rub off part of the cured Loca and accelerate the time for lifting and bubbles to appear at the edges. to put it short, it's like pasting the sp to the screen using transparent version of bluetack.

and in the worse case scenario.......

the seller gives you Loca glue that is too thin and not meant to be used for pasting screen protectors. it's really the worse because everything may appear fine and dandy and by the time you realised you're fked, the seller maybe already close shop and retire in some casino somewhere in Macau already..

Loca glue that are too thin will appear only very slightly thicker to that of normal water and application process. you will not be able to tell that it is too thin and may even be happy that the application is much faster as it spread rather quickly. then you would even convince yourself and introduce others that you have found a gem because your SP can defeat every single protective cases out there against lifting and you don't even remember when was the last time you had to clean dirt and dust along the edges of the sp.

sht would then literally hit the fence when you drop your phone and the shatter the sp. and just when you start to tell yourself lucky for this sp and proceed to try and pry away the sp away from your phone and install a new one, you realised it's impossible to do so..

this is when you can have fun slowly scrapping away the hundreds or thousands little pieces of glass fragments that just refuses to budge. :s13: fyi those thin Loca are used by 3rd party repair shops or experienced individuals for attaching just the glass cover of phones screen like the S7 edge in cases where the glass breaks but digitiser below it is still working. it's meant to be a permanent solution not temporary.

so please practice your own due diligence before happily sorting your AliExpress or taobao search results using "price from loweest to highest" option. :s13:

I guess it really helps to read reviews, or if the glass is inexpensive, even test it out on something else first

Interesting. Any idea what kind of glue Zeelot uses?

no idea.. but I only trust one Tiong seller on taobao for his UV sp.. because he will constantly improve and reformulate the Loca that he includes for his kit.. from the smell alone you will know it's not the same because the one from his shop is very faint when compared to those use by others.

https://m.intl.taobao.com/detail/detail.html?id=558970564785&spm=a2141.7631565.item_rank_list_19189228858.558970564785

for those interested this is his tb shop.. look at the reviews and judge by yourself.. and of cos do your own due diligence..

he only sells offers UV tgsp for a handful of phones models, other products in his store are mediocre and you can definitely find other better ones. if you do decide to make a purchase but already have the big UV lamp that came with WSD (he provides the same big one), just chat with the seller before or right after you have made your order and let them know. they should still be able to offer you an additional set of tgsp + loca glue in lieu of the UV lamp.

*edit - the price for his stuff is by no means cheap for a TB or AliExpress seller.. but he sell in sets of 2/3/4, so the cost per set is still way way wayyyy cheaper than WSD.. but then again if you just want UV Loca sp at rock bottom prices, then this is not for you, please move on..

I've came to a conclusion that UV glass just dont work for s10, no matter what you choose. Some may have fingerprint working but at an expense of a lower quality glue which doesnt provide the optimum shatter protection of its equivalent counterpart.

Whitestone has provided slightly more volume of glue which somehow affected the thickness of the gap between glass and screen. To circumvent this, its recommended to push out the excessive glue by pressing on the glass before curing. However due to the fact that loca shrinks about 1-2% of its surface area, it causes bubble when it shrinks.

Whereas a tpu protector is more cost effective, easier to apply and is totally compatible with fingerprint scanner. I have chosen the latter..
