What the **** are you talking about man?

Isnt meritocracy and equality of opportunity Government policy, or have I been misunderstanding them all along?
I think you are getting too angry to think.

It's funny when you are lumping meritocracy and equality together.

Meritocracy is when someone's skills and knowledge are being acknowledged. it's about hiring people based on their capabilities, paying them what they are worth.

Whereas, I am not sure about your definition of "equality". Every blue-collared job holders or part-timers being paid the same amount despite their job scope? Is that equality?

Maybe you are indeed not too smart to understand. Just so if this clarifies, I dont get angry with people who are dumber than me.

Even if no minimum wage, govt can still tax you deep deep and give your money to people who would qualify for min wage

This is why I think everyone should pay taxes so people who don’t won’t vote for policies to increase the burden of those who do

Sadly, some people are exempted from income tax. Pretty sure one of them is Runaticz. Which I think he should be glad for now.

Who knows if one day minimum wage is introduced, he will belong to the income tax-payable group. Till then, he will start crying that why SG is not Swiss standard yet? Why is the govt bullying him by making him pay tax. Equality for all, everyone to be excused from tax, especially him!

Aww, when will a pitiful dog like you ever have the chance to "make me suffer" as you have claimed? Probably in your dreams, as you continue to whine about how unfair life is to you :s13::s13:

Of course can lah. Such people put themselves before others while trying to advocate equality, too blinded to even see his own irony.

It is okay for the government to force all employers to pay minimum wage, it is even okay for companies to lose or sacrifice a little bit of their revenue, just so that all employees can enjoy the minimum wage they deserve.

For what reason? Because **** the economy and all business owners' interest! All employees deserves to be paid FAIRLY! And by FAIRLY, it means that everyone should take home the SAME highly paid hour salary of $10, regardless of their job scope.

Companies are profit maximisers, they so easily will just accept a lower revenue to pay a higher wage? Min wage hurt the lower income, helps big busineesses at the expense of weeding out small businesses. That is why large retailers in the US LOBBY for a higher min wage.

And not forgetting how the business model at the lower end works, it's not just about trying to pay the lowest wage possible. Take department stores like CS or SS for eg. they open some locations until 10pm, others they stretch until 12am or even for 24hrs. They do that because they have calculated in some locations where they open for longer hours, despite incurring a higher labour cost, the revenue they make is much higher than this labour cost and they are able to turn a profit. As a result, more people get hired to run their stores longer

What happens if you get the gov to increase the wages for these workers. Suddenly labour cost has shot up and it may not be profitable to open longer. So they shut all their stores at 10pm. They end up hiring lesser workers, the current workers work for shorter and probably still take home the same pay. The corporation doesn't lose out, its the lower income that do.

Therefore, minimum wage kills jobs.

Why leh peasant dog? Are you hoping to see our Finance Minister creating an edmw account to announce that minimum wage will start next month, so that you can rejoice about finally being able to receive a salary that is equal to that of a Macdonalds' cashier

Is a cycle.
Once minimum wage set in, everyone salary suddenly increased.
Meanwhile food price, service price and etc all increased.
All is the same.
OZ minimum wage is high but the food price also high.
The manual work service such as plumber also sibeh high.

Glad you can see how minimum wage will coz inflation.

At least progressive wage push for improvement?

Anyone who takes the minimum wage can **** care their job and just continue to take their salary every month.

Which is worse?

if performance is poor, minimum wage doesn't immune you getting sack.

Obviously you wanting minimum wages in Singapore. Why else would anyone pop out a WOT thread? If don't want it, why make such a thread? Did someone other than you ask for one?:s13::s13:

pappy and its dogs are pro-business because they all have their hands and profit outside business. wages suppression is one way use to increase their revenues and thus they get their extra pocket money. don't even think pappy dogs will show pity and hope they can put up min wages policy in place.

bottom salary worker, you are better as well work in amdkland, take home higher than chao sinkieland...

The problem with it is that some menial jobs will be more attractive than other menial jobs. Thus it would kill off certain jobs, when people no longer wants to be cleaners how? Because they can easily choose to work as a coffee boy or Macdonalds cashier for the same amount of pay they used to receive as a cleaner.

What is the solution for this?
