lypertek tevi bought at $99: enhanced highs and mids without fatigue. Chinese music god

mifo o7 bought at $95: neutral, borderline flat. probably the least separation out of the three,but still enjoyable listening experience

fiil t1x bought at $59: most dynamic and V sounding, significantly more bass compared to the rest, the thump and rumble is more present. That is not to say that the bass masks the vocals and highs as these two are still very much present. Honestly I enjoy the sound on this pair the most but it can get fatiguing.

Depends on your choice of music, ymmv:
-lypertek tevi is really good when listening to ballads/Chinese music, non fatiguing despite the enhanced highs and mids

-fiil is really nice when listening to hip hop and pop albeit it is best for a short listen because it is fatiguing

-mifo o7 is good in general and caters to all music. It is non fatiguing and good for a long listening session while commuting

Personally I'm keeping the mifo o7 because:
1. After using lypertek tevi for close to 5 months, I realise it has issues with the Bluetooth. Once in a while it will pop and distort and the pairing time is a little slow. the Bluetooth range is weak too. Using ur phone to control volume has a bit of issue as well, so u need to use the control the earbud itself to adjust the volume. Overall not a big issue, probably my OCD kicking up.

2. The fiil t1x that I received has issues with the connection where once in a while sound will not play when it is removed from the case until I reconnect/up the volume. The charging pins on the case has a slight issue as well. The button placements on the fiil t1x are confusing and not instinctive and is not reliable as well.

3. The small case and build on the mifo. Touch controls are the best out of the three too, instinctive and reliable. mifo has the most consistent Bluetooth pairing and connection for me too.

4. I generally listen to my earbuds while commuting and listen for at least 1-2 hours so a non fatiguing pair is appreciated.


All these are just my opinions and two cents so don't treat my words as a encyclopedia

Fiil t1x weakpoint had always been the charging case. I really have to properly place the buds carefully after use so that it closes properly and disconnect properly. But I do not encounter the connection issues u mentioned as it gave the fastest and most reliable connection when I take them out from the case, among all the earbuds I owned. Maybe you would want to reset the earbuds to see if things improve.

Just sharing. Top down they are iqd50, fiil t1x and trudots, later 2 being the earbuds many people here owned.

Among these 3, I find the most comfort and can wear and listen for hrs (more than 3 hrs in one go) from iqd50 now, even though its sound quality is not as good as the 2 below.

It adopts a rare implementation called 'shallow dive'. The earbuds that come with it are very shallow compared to the conventional in-ear type. They touted it as having the comfort level of half in-ears like classic airpods and have the seal/sound quality of full in-ear types. (Maybe we should call it 3/4 in-ear? Lol).

They are really comfortable to wear for long sessions. (Well, they need to have this comfort since the battery life on single charge is 10-12 hrs)


Fiil t1x and iqd50 are the 2 earbuds I use most often now. Fiil t1x as daily driver due to its reliability and call quality. iqd50 for long, binge sessions of movies, dramas, tv shows or simply radio sessions..


As for mifo 07, I won't consider buying as its still using qcc3020, the worst budget qcc chip of its class and its successor had already been announced and released (qcc3040). Its not a good chip for people who switches devices and swap earbuds often.

Although mifo 07 is probably a good earpiece, probably the best mifo after the crappy 02/03s and the flat 05 with 0 bass presence, its too late into the game when people are already waiting for qcc3040 based devices with ANC/TWM.

qcc3020, and its related tws+ technology, supports left/right independant use, but in a clumsy way. It has lag and sometimes no sound on one side during swapping/pairing and sometimes simply won't connect. It also register 2 bluetooth devices(addresses) to your phone. Reliability is an issue.

This is the reason why people swore by apple airpods, samsung galaxy buds and sony ones. A simple action of putting left earbuds back in case and right earbuds go into mono mode, and taking out left earbuds and they go into stereo mode are done so smoothly on these devices, compared to the major bulk of tws that uses qualcomm tws+ in general.

There are 3 major portions to a tws.
1. Sound drivers - affects sound quality (though its tuning also has a more significant impact)
2. Wireless bluetooth chip - affects connection and overall user experience

If qualcomm lives up to their promise of giving seamless swapping and connection, ANC and ambient mode with their qcc3040 chips to BUDGET and MID-TIER tws earpieces, we are in for a treat.

Now we just have to wait for the new earpieces that uses this chip.

These new chips have also aptx support. Looks like they are going to keep it simple. Just aptx (budget tier 304x series) and aptx adaptive (premium tier 504x series).

To me most important is sound quality as it occupies a large part of the tws usage. It can have the best battery life, best seamless switching, best touch controls, but I will still itch for a better sound quality even if other features are top notch.

This is probably why cases of people owning more than 1 tws are not uncommon. There is not one tws that can meet all the needs of even one person, not to mention a lot of people.

Like for me, I need as many as 4 tws currently to meet all my needs.


Daily driver:
For this one I value reliability and call quality most. Sound quality is impt as well. It should also has a stable fit. (Current: FILL T1x)

Ultraportable driver:
This one I value portability and call quality. Sound quality not that much.
(Current: Soundpeats truedots. Wanting to replace as its not very reliable, but cannot find a replacement yet)

Long battery life tws which I will use on trips where I cannot easily access a power source:
This one I value huge battery cases and long battery life. Sound quality should be decent. Originally considered mifo o5 but heard many negative things abt its sound quality. (Current: iqd50)

Binge watching movies, dramas, etc, especially during current 'stay at home' period:
This one I value comfort and sound clarity. (Current: iqd50)

Late night radio sessions/soothing music as I put myself to sleep:
This one I prefer the smallest earbud size so that I can lie on one side of my head and not feel discomfort. Sound quality should be nice as well. (Current: Haylou GT2)

Work out:
This one I expect stable fit and decent water resistance. (Current: Fiil T1x)

Gaming:
For this one, low latency is the most impt of course. (Current: Fiil T1x)


For sound quality, I expect clear, vibrant mids. I am not a basshead, so i don't really go for earpieces with strong bass. Lows and highs are of lesser importance to me.

Frankly speaking, for tws, I lowered my expectation of sound quality. If I want the most awesome sound quality, I go back to my wired earpieces and turn on my hifi quad DAC.
(Problem is... I broke so many wired earpieces due to carelessness that it had burnt a hole in my pocket already. Now embracing wireless freedom)

Pixel buds 2 looks kinda interesting. Most regular tech review sites say the sound quality is pretty decent. 12mm driver like one of the bigger ones around for TWS already. Though i'll probably wait till the more audio oriented sites get their hands first. KZ Z1 should be coming out soon too.

When the source is already compressed, we cannot expect much improvement from sound quality no matter how premium the earpiece is. I can pay more for earpieces, but only if it has more features like ANC, ambient mode or some other defining features other than sound. But there is only this much I am willing to pay for a pair of earbuds.

If I want to get serious to sound quality, I will subscribe to Roon (like the video mentioned). But for now, not going to bother.

The thing is all bluetooth codec available so far is still lossy compression, even LDAC@990 or AptX HD. So if you are often using bluetooth headphones or earbuds, its pointless to get anything more than MP3@320 (lossy). Lossless audio sources is pointless if you are using bluetooth audio devices as your main daily source.

FWAH! looks chio. Can't say I'm a fan of Final Audio stuff since their E1000, 2000, 3000 sound signature didn't really suit my taste when I auditioned them a while back, but looks nice. But looking at the position of the microphone, the shape of the earbuds, and the charging contacts, I somehow get the feeling like this is a re-shell / re-design of the MPOW T5/Lypertek TEVI/Nakamichi TW211 with a fancier case. haha.
