Seamless Bespoke has Yanko and Enzo Bonafe. After trying them, you might just forget about Carlos Santos and get a pair there :s13:

Thanks, haven taken a look and it seem like it might be out of my budget which hopes to work within <$450

Try Yanko can already lah. Don't poison him with EB for his first pair... :D

Brown captoe oxford Yanko has these:

And in the working world where 90% are wearing black shoes, I guess sooner or later you will get one of these:

thanks for your recommendations. It seems like this brown cap toe oxford seems are very well polished especially the cap toe area. Would like to ask is the cap toe part different tone or shine from the rest of the part? Because it seems like very formal for me which i hope to have one tone for the whole shoe instead. I have PMed them for price check and will consider if the price is right.

If you really want Carlos Santos then you can try asking The Quarters if they have any stock for you to try and purchase. If willing to up budget then like some of the broad said, try Yanko.

Yes, i am also checking with them to see whether they carries some of the stock. Btw, is it because that all yanko shoes are handcrafted that makes their price slightly higher than some other GYW brands?

Agreed, for first pairs or more try not to buy online as there are so many variations which can affect the fit. Too tight you will not wear them again, too loose you need to improvise.

Once you are confident of your fit for that last by all means source for the best deals.

I have quite a few pairs now and I cannot tell for sure if I am a 6, 6.5 or 7 :)

Yanko is comparable to Carlos Santos so do yourself a favour and check out Seamless Bespoke. You may walk away with a Enzo ! A mystery maker is going to be announced in 2 weeks so more options locally.

There is a local retailer selling CS, the quarters.sg so check them out

Yankos today

Seems like many recommended Yanko shoes, possible to briefly share some of the reason behind? May be i will find one day to go down to Yanko shop to have a look and try as well. Thanks.

Yanko is popular here due to a local retailer carrying them so you are guaranteed fit, see/touch/feel the actual shoe before making payment. Photos can be misleading it can turn out totally different. The experience with the retailer is always pleasant, I will end up buying more stuff than I should.

Have a search on Thundermarch post on shoes in the $400 bracket. They are rarely perfect, so having the ability to pick one from the lot helps.

I have 2 pairs of Yanko in the 915 last and they are lovely and great fit! The pair I have posted has been through a vacation trip with me with tons of walking, they survived better than I expected. Good quality

Yanko is GYW as is CS. The price difference has many factors going into it. But like what has been said, always better to test out the shoes personally to know if it fits.

Hope you find one that fits well! What size are you btw?

Just went to have a quick read on of his guidance to some of the bro here, will look into his suggested brand Loake for $400 price range as well. By the way for your Yanko shoe do you feel any pain after walking with it for quite sometimes in let say a shopping mall i.e around 1 to 1.5 hrs?

That pair I was walking for 6 to 8 hours for 4 days and man my feet were sore end of the day, this would happen even with sneakers.

No pain and yes they pass the test and will have them with me for my next vacation.

Pain is usually caused by bad fit or shoes not broken in. Maybe mine are suede, zero break in for both pairs.

100% recommend putting plasters on your heels until the shoes break in. I had the worst blisters of my life the first time wearing mine. 915 last

IMHO, it is 90% fit. Correct fit $200 shoes will be more comfortable than $2K wrong fit shoes.

The other 10% would be keeping all else equal, higher quality leather would be less stiff and more supple, hence relatively more comfortable from the onset.

The toecap in the pic is intentionally polished until shining. It takes about 1 hr for each shoe (ie 2 hrs per pair) to achieve this. Be default the whole shoe is matt and of same tone.

Yanko should be $438 in SB.

I see, thanks for clearing my doubt and the price check, didn't know it can do such partially magic shine.
