Btw, did you ask for contrast stitching? The white thread is a sharp contrast vs the leather uppers. How do you find the stitching versus the original?

I find that it looks a little less refined than what i normally expect. Thanks for sharing.

Ya, i thought so too.

Probably because mine was backordered since 17 Nov, that's why it was shipped via DHL.

I was given a further 10% discount on top of the 15% discount code just to hold onto my order.

now, still waiting for 2 more pairs to complete my 2015 shoe shopping. :s13:

Is the 15% discount code still applicable? Can share? I waiting to get a pair of Loakes too.

you have to subscribe to the newsletter, i believe, to be informed of the discount code.

I got my discount code from here actually. someone shared it in this thread.

Yeah I just subscribed. Looks like that code has expired - if you're referring to the "flash2" code shared here ):

The original was the same colour as well, didn't specify any special instructions so i guess they use back same colour of stitching :o

From my observations, normally flash deals are 24 hours only.

Loake only deals are for the weekend only.

So do act fast if you want to get it haha.

Both my loake (strand and cannon) were purchased from the loake only sale.

Visited Taka departmental store to look at Church's, which was still out of my budget and seriously under-stocked in sizes. However, I give credit to the young Indian salesman who was extremely helpful. Visited Robinsons at Heeran next to look at Loake only to be very disappointed in the range of designs, very limited and nothing that caught my eye. T

What I'm looking for are: a pair of black oxfords and a pair of dark brown loafers. The black oxfords were easy: Loake Aldwych which I managed to source online from herringshoes, affordable and from what I read, a pretty decent brand if you stick to the 1880 series. I'll probably head to Robinsons again to try for size and comfort on a similar size.

I'm still looking around for suitable dark brown loafers, meermin loafers in brown based on old photos looked decent but don't seem to available on their website anymore. And without a lack of a storefront, not too confident about picking the right size. Currently looking at Atelier LLYR but there seems to be a lack of reviews for the particular model: Stuart or actually even the brand as a whole...any other recommendations?

Ed Et Al. If buying from a shopfront is a must might as well support local!

I actually have a pair from them. Flyer II, which I bought just recently but found the colour to be very different from what I saw on the website. I went down to the store but they didn't have stock for the colour so I only tried for size. There doesn't seem to be other dress loafers in brown that are available...

Gone were the days of Church imo. Charging that amount for Polished Binder is really atrocious.

They're ok. If you search the thread a couple of us (including me) have their early pairs. In fact the consensus was that their leather creased less then EEA

Their new collection apparently also includes pairs with leather from Ilcea. So not too shabby imo.

Yes, I have read that after Prada took over Church is no longer what it once was.

Thanks, the review is much appreciated. I'll probably head down today to take a look, probably get some advice and supplies on shoe maintenance too. Heard they stock Saphir.

Was it me? :D

Anyway, will share here again when I receive their next discount code. My guess Boxing Day should have some.

UK7, I did not know this...

But thus far, I've bought Atelier LLYR's Stuart Loafers as I find it quite a fair bargain. Only 150 bucks.

On the edge between Meermin oxfords vs EET's City Hall.

So carmina sg has reduced their prices storewide to match the official website

Wow... thanks for the head's up. Went to double check so now SG webstore is only about $59 higher and with free shoe trees?

Unless I'm mistaken and the $ price is in USD?

I think right now it seems like the only added benefit of ordering online vs buying at Capitol is the free shoe trees

Edit : i was referring to carmina@capitol when i said "carmina sg"

I think he meant the physical store at Capitol piazza.

One thing to note is that the Singapore dollar price on the website includes 7% gst as all their shoes will be above $400.

The website auto switches to the SG store depending on IP right?

so 646.26 is accurate? but we have to add in additional 7% after?

thanks
