Which part of Japan is this? I think you watch too much movies :s13:

I've seen the shoe trees in Muji. Frankly for the price, you'd be much better off getting a few people together and buying trees from Bexley. Once you buy at least 5 pairs of trees in a single order, they become pretty cheap.

I have 2 pairs of Bexley trees and for the price, they're pretty damn good.

Also on a side note regarding previous posts, I have to say, IMHO, $500+ for glued sole shoes sounds ridonkulous. :-/ Especially when Herring shoes frequently has sales and you can snag some nice shoes there for about $250 (incl shipping).
why 5? From the website the common discount given is like 2 pairs are discounted. Anyway quite difficult buying online when you can't try on the shoe?

There's always some risk involved with online purchases anyway... If research is done right, higher chance of success! And yea save a sh*tload of money most of the time too! :s12:

But I agree that buying shoetrees online quite risky. There is no way in hell that you can figure out if the shoetree shape will fit your shoes. Not much info online to do any research.

That's your definition of 'branded'. As far as I know, Skagen is a watch company.

Armani and Kenneth Cole Reaction are not true watch companies, but mere fashion labels. Fashion brands are the true definition of branded. KCR produce sh*tty watches for a high price.

For example, are you going to tell me Mercedes is 'branded' ? Did it ever occur to you that people buy from Mercedes simply because they make good cars?

then are u going to aim ppl who buy LV suitcases? cos they became famous for their suitcases mah...:s22::s22:

I have no idea what LV is really good at making. So I simply won't buy such stuff.

You are the one who is aiming ppl who buy branded stuff, not me.

Wow, mercedes came out with the new A-class 250 Sport. Diamond grille at the front sporty design! That is what i call Luxury class! Anyway good to see but no $ to buy la. Will never own it myself also. Those who have it i respect.
Not watches, though. Whoever is going to look or care what brand you are wearing? Owning watches is more so for oneself's personal fetish. :D

Cos my Skagen watch looks great. Everyone who complimented on watch has no idea what Skagen is.

My specs brand is Japonism. Same thing, no one heard of that as well. And how on earth do you figure out ppl's eyewear brand? Those with the logo on the frame are fugly.

People who choose based on brand and not quality are simply stupid. Like dogs following a herd.

Hmmm... I know what is Japonism. Well known brand in japan. NOt cheap too. Their top line can easily costs over 1k. A luxury brand. Even their cheapest range will cost above $500. Personally for me, I dont fancy japonism though not becos its no good but becos im more biased towards fitting and look more at the comfort aspect in any type of design. Be it clothes, shoes, specs or anything. Ermm only those interested in certain things will know what you are wearing the instant they see you. If someone is a watch-lover, they will definitely know what is on your hand.

Ermmm please dont call people dogs la. Stupid ok. BUt dogs a bit too harsh. Sheep will be a more forgiving word. :D Cos sheep gets eaten by wolves.

By the way, thanks for your advice on skagen watch. If one day i have the $ maybe i will take a good look at Skagen.

Sorry about the phrasing, I was not very tactful when expressing my honest opinion. :(

My Japonism specs fit me best because of my Asian nose. It is probably because our face shapes are very different, cos it is by far my most comfortable pair. The glasses don't slide off my face or end up below my eye level. Any myopic Asian will know Western eyewear simply suck in terms of fit.

The strong points of Skagen watches are that they are lightweight and thin. I got mine because it does not encumber me and it fits well into long sleeve shirts. I got my Skagen because it's more comfortable to wear, not because people will recognise the brand (no one I know heard of it anyway). Btw, Skagen watches can be bought cheap online. It isn't exactly an expensive watch, but retailers really mark it up here.

Anyway, back to shoes.

I just wanna say I really think Bata and Hush Puppies give the best bang for buck, at least in Singapore. Brand name sucks, but the quality does not suck as much as the brand image IMO.

Please avoid Pedro. Cheers.

I agree totally. Those who buy based on brand and don't do research on what is good, are just lazy or are looking for social acceptance.

Branded simply means the company is selling mainly a brand image, but their products have no differentiating features from the mainstream products. Simply put, a branded shoe is no better than a mainstream one in terms of quality. Pedro and Aldo shoes are branded shoes. But shoes like Crockett and Jones are NOT branded shoes.

There is a very big difference between branded and quality goods. A Gucci shoe maybe costs 500 bucks, but will last as long as a Bata shoe. A pair of Goodyear welted Allen Edmonds shoes cost $300+, but lasts at least 10 years. Only lazy retards buy Gucci branded shoes. Please learn the definition of branded, Mr andyjeewk.

I have to admit i am plain lazy when looking for shoes. So when i see the shoes looking nice i just hoot. :o Wow you are shooting at all Gucci owners. So in your knowledge, what is Gucci good at making? Bags?

I dont like Hush Puppies shoes, but i really adore their bamboo briefs & socks. Anti-bacteria, breathable qualities and cheap. Box of 5 costs less than 20 bucks. :s12:

Pedro shoes i wore once and never again. Too uncomfy alry.

No comments on Bata. My mother always bring me to buy their slippers when i am a child.

Either you're joking or incredibly naive.

ok la dont shoot a newbie like me. I just never liked bank people. Frankly, when i go to a bank as a customer, i never get to see their shoes or watches. The most noticeable thing is their cocky faces. You can say that im naive in a way. :s13:

Those people you face off with, I'll be surprised if they blow money on shoes or watches or accessories. Maybe the women but that's another discussion.

The bankers I'm talking abt are those have to brand themselves accordingly to their clientele. Definitely not you since you don't appear to be aware of their existence.

that was the point i was trying to make. many of us who are into watches know what skagen is. seriously branded or no branded it depends on individual wat. i can also bluntly say skagen is branded. i know a lot more unbranded watches as compared to skagen....
