Bought a pair of burgundy Markowski Double Monk on impulse. Only to realise that it is made of bookbinder leather. Googled and found out that it is corrected grain leather with a layer of polish.
Should I cancel the order and get a refund? Or should I stick with it since there are claims that bookbinder leather is gd for wet weather, suitable for Sg's climate.

It's not that bad as it's being villainised on the igents forums, imho. I personally prefer calf as i can decide the level of shine i wish to polish and they probably take to creases abit better. But i wont reject binder at a good bargain.

Paid $280+ for the shoes. Most of the common sizes are gone for the sales item. Hopefully the shoe last fits me!

wanna ask about Saphir products. When i first bought my shoes i bought the saphir creme. When do you need to start using the renovateur and do you use them together?

Fwiw, I usually just wipe or brush the shoes without using any products until after a few wears. Thereafter, apply creme or polish n shine. I use reno the next round to remove the 1st time application of creme/polish and nourish,before repolish.

Not sure if this is correct or not.

From Herrings will be S$367 less VAT include shipping. No need to pay GST.

Seems like price has gone up. I have bought this model from Herrings including shoe tree, and still no need to pay GST when it arrived.

Perhaps his asking price of $420 is based on the list price at robinsons dept store singapore which i believe is $499. Regrettably it is rather overpriced compared to an online purchase, which a couple of u already verified is within $400 all in.

I'll choose to believe that he could have bought at $499 in sg (and oblivious that it would cost significantly lesser online), and therefore $420 is in fact letting go at a discount from his perspective.

If he is trying his luck here, then probably not the right place.
