with 1.3.87 just can root like that? anyone tried? workable? Wonder what will happen if failed, can reset to factory? me tempting to root, but so far quite happy with Shafa. no Kodi though because worry not enough space.

ya, will trust him. So bro Pengsp, if anything goes wrong along the way, we can just reset to factory original firmware?

By the way, why we need to root the box ah? advisable to root boh if we want to install kodi/xmbc? So far am using the Shafa and apps from there.

No need to root, Kodi v15 no longer requires root to enable hardware acceleration...

Other than that, root is required to install a complicated series of programs to enable google playstore or if you want to hack your protected system files manually ( don't understand? ignore...)

orr... like that ah, I don't root then... dont need google playstore since already have shafa. just wonder necessary to increase storage or not and if need how to. will explore. thanks for advice.

try reboot. after latest firmware update, my box takes almost 1 min to boot up.
