google play

a few steps to install playstore:
1. Root the box
2. Copy GoogleServicesFramework, GoogleLoginService, vendor apks to system folders data/app and system/app
3. Change the property of these apk to rw-r--r--
4. reboot

I did what you mention after reboot google play store did not appear, anything why ? or do I need to install some apk ? my software ver is 1.3.20 does that matter ?

did you install from this file using its instruction?

It should come out after 2-3 reboot, if not, just install the vendor.apk as per other apk. i.e. use file manager to browse and click on it.

show me the screen capture after you did the rw-r--r--

Ok Guys,

Just to share. I have signed up with Unotelly. (Please note I am not a salesman). This is the only DNS service which list tvb.com as a channel.

I just signed up, did the promotion on facebook link, they gave me a 3 months testing period with no restrictions.

Simple setup to point the router towards their DNS server which by the way is located in Singapore. You have to log into the website to update your IP address and then you are good to go.

Since I configured the router and not the mibox, I can use the mibox and browse to TVB.com. I can managed to view all the contents. No longer geo blocked.

I also used the browser to go into bbc and ITV in UK. I can see all the world cup matches live. They both share the viewing rights. Anyway, Unotelly have setup a link to direct you to the right broadcaster in a special world cup page. Just go there and click whichever broadcaster you want. Super Smooth. Entire match 1 time lag 2 seconds only!

Watch TVB.com also no lag. Can even see realtime broadcast of TVB channel. Even better then starhub. The down part is you also must watch the advertisements..haha

I think its worth it to check out unotelly. Its not a vpn service. No need to configure vpn like ****. Just point the router in the correct direction, login their website, click update IP address and you are good to go. Very simple. However, if you google starhub and unotelly, there is alot of complaints that starhub fibre is blocking the service. There is a workaround, I too lazy to type so much. You guys have to google it yourself.

Best part is after I configure the DNS in the router, since the server is in Singapore, there is no lag whatsoever in normal surfing. All our devices including IPADS, Tablets, Phones all can access the blocked websites. They just need to register the ip address of your router 1 time before going to the website.

Please note, I have tested it for TVB.com. I can access it using browser, chrome, firefox. BUT BUT BUT If I download the tvb.com app from android store and use it, it will show geo-location blocked due to copyright issues. No idea why? Maybe the app is smarter then the browser.

Since its not a VPN service, your download speed is not an issue. Do complete the stupid facebook like and comment promotion. Just follow the instructions and get 3 months free subscription. Then later decide after world cup want to continue or not... Good Deal...

I tried Hola. I find that it works then dont work. No idea why.

Unotelly much faster. However, I only use it because now its free. After 3 months then see how.

The concept for Hola and Unotelly is the same. However, Unotelly has dedicated DNS servers. hola is a open source project. When network is loaded, very slow

Your tv support 720p or 1080p? If possible try using it on different tv/monitor then go setting change the output resolution.

More info will help...

1) What TV are you using? Does it support 720p?
2) You connect via HDMI or AV?

If your TV screen is showing the "No signal due to incompatible" message, it means the TV can't decode or recognise the video signal.

For those of you who have successfully install and run XBMC on the xiaomi, is that the box 2 or the latest 增强版?

Thanks in advance.

Mine also same mah. Your tv is 720p right? The mibox don't have auto video signal detection. So need to manual select. Just hoot up to a 1080p tv and set it lower. Then can work liao.
