Is a "local warranty" set. Not set warranty by Xiaomi Singapore.

Mobile square right? Their ad claims it's local xiaomi warranty.. If shop warranty only then they're misleading buyers.

Do you guys get 4g on both slots in mi4i? I noticed that I only get 4g if I used the outer slot.

Sometime, buyer get mislead by all these advertisment trick. At least some they indicate "warranty by ASUS Singapore" or something like that.

actually i bought from them. The sets they sell has "complies with IDA standards" sticker. Also went online chat to check with Xiaomi giving them the Imei and serial No. Xiaomi Singapore confirms 100% local set.

Did u order ur set thru Qoo10? They have been selling it at $268 (thru Qoo10).. quite a gd buy..

yes. i ordered via qoo10. I got it at $199 + 50 q stamps... Very good deal! I'm very kiasu, although the IDA sticker is there but decided to still reconfirm with Xiaomi for ease of mind cos Xiaomi got too many export sets out there in the market.

Those who mentioned that Mobile square is selling export sets, did they actually buy and got an export set from them? Or are they just assuming?

yes. i ordered via qoo10. I got it at $199 + 50 q stamps... Very good deal! I'm very kiasu, although the IDA sticker is there but decided to still reconfirm with Xiaomi for ease of mind cos Xiaomi got too many export sets out there in the market.

There was a post where someone asked Xiaomi thru their facebook abt this issue and they replied saying 3rd party sellers won't offer local manufacturer's warranty. I think the peeps answering questions on their FB dun really know their stuff..

oh yes, i'm so glad that a use for the 200++ stamps i accumulated was found . Every couple of months i have stamps expired unused so for the first time the stamps were useful LOL.

I didn't see the message on Xiaomi FB but guess the person posting on FB was trying to err on the side of caution. Just a blanket reply solved the issue cos if he/she went deeper, teaching people how to identify a Singapore set, there will still be idiots who read what they want to read and go back crying to Xiaomi saying 'You said can buy from third party retailers as long as it is Singapore set, I bought it from XXX in Sim Lim Singapore, why do you say it is not a Singapore set??".

I suspect Mobile square's sets are telco sets since they have a buyback program but can't verify for sure cos my set doesn't come with any Telco bloatware.

The term local warranty is very misleading. Think better becareful.

there are some diehard mi fans around.. still rem back then when i was checking on screen protector/casing lobangs, some of them keep posting to wait for official accessories so that there's warranties. Warranty for casing/sp... seriously?

I bought my Redmi from qoo10 n it was local warranty from Xiaomi sg. But when I brought to the service centre for a motherboard issue they refuse to honour it.

if not wrong they like to ask for receipt, so if u cant product the local receipt, that might be how they differentiate?

did they provide you any evidence(eg. official Xiaomi receipt etc.) that there's warranty by Xiaomi Singapore?
think they also check your phone's IMEI number too to verify it's a purchase from Xiaomi Singapore.

Guess even purchase directly from Xiaomi sg. We only get a receipt without sn or IMEI on receipt. So believe has a system to track which phone they have imported.

It's the 'Prevent Pocket Dials' feature that is activated when something is covering the proximity sensor when the screen is on. You can switched it off under 'Display' in the Settings, iirc.

Most likely around July or August.
