To be honest. I tried the global stable ROM for a grand total of 1 hour at most.
Installed Google store and services via an APK i found somewhere. Everything seemed to work well except contacts...... still had to use Mi Mover for that. After that decided I wanted a more stock android feel so CM13 it became.

The reason is I want the Music and Themes. I'm not sure in International ROM the Music can stream/download the Mandarin song and the Themes is working. I read somewhere that outside China, we can't use the Music to stream song but so far so good.

I have no issue backing up/restoring my Whatsapp messages as well. i think you have to fix the Google's issue first if there's any.

I will be using CM13 or non MIUI ROM as well but for a time being, I will stick to MIUI8.

Same2. :) I was a WinMo ROM cooker during WinMo days before I moved to Android. :D

The problem is the other Google account setting is OK. Play store is working well.

Yes, tried a few cards and places, all working. Anyone got luck with ezlink sim card? Mi5 is not officially supported. Just wonder why

For Mi5's type C charging cable, where can I get a spare? Mi website doesn't seem to have. Wonder if those sold at the various handphone accessories shop are authentic or risk of burning the port.
