Regarding about the Weibo account of Mi Pro, it was registered way back when they are shortlisting the name for the device that's known as Mi Max now.

mi5 user can wait for mi6. mi5s is only enhance version. why bother.

I got the Mi 5 on China ROM and I want to flash to Global ROM. I was told by the sales person that I need to unlock Mi before I can flash.

Can someone enlighten me why I need to unlock as I thought I can simply download the global ROM and install it? Also, any concerns with unlocking??

Bought from Lazada (shop in SLS). Came with MIUI by xiaomi.eu 7.6.11.0(MAACNDB) stable.

Already comes with Google Play store and there are no chinese apps inside. Not sure if this is a fake ROM or if there is any ad-ware/spyware as what others said here.

Wanted to flash the official MIUI global rom using the suggested methods on MIUI form. Tired the updater app and also Mi PC Suite but both methods don't work. My bootloader is still locked. Waiting for approval.

Anyone managed to flash to official ROM without unlocking their bootloader?

Same here. Just got confirmation abt unlock. But don't dare to try..I'm on official China ROM

Mine was officially China rom. Flashed to 7.5.3?. Can't remember the exact version.

You can flash to Official CHINA ROM without unlocking bootloader. For instructions see my post earlier in the thread.

If you want to install MIUI GLOBAL ROM you will need to unlock the bootloader.

So meaning once I have the confirmation abt to unlock bootloader, just download it.onto my phone, then download official global ROM onto phone and use updater to do it?
