Thanks for the heads up krabs. That’s really helpful. I’m gonna order it. The bottom half of the screen is now lifted by itself due to the bloated battery but i’m afraid to lift it up completely in case I break anything. Noob question, how do we know the battery is genuine?
the black color battery , all are imitation , there is no "real" or "authentic" battery , their temperature data will stay @ 29 d celcius forever , nohon one the temperature data will go up/down

when buying the nohon battery from that biggest seller with 300+ reviews , can add on 1cent USB cable 1.5m , search the store "list all product" and filter by cheapest

I haven't change yet , will do it tomorrow when sunlight is better
this phone it drop on the staircase and the casing can never close back since , battery too bloated

if you start from zero , then follow the image guide on the product webpage and search youtube to see how the fingerprint sensor unlatch and how much effort u need to pull out the adhesive under the old battery
use something to pry open the corner until it lift up like 1-2 mm and you insert the plastic piece to "unlatch" all 4 side of the rectangle in clockwise or anti-clockside continuous , like those old candybar style phone from 10 years ago , there are about 10+ latches on all 4 side

some part of this video can be skipped as we don't disassemble until screen

don't use the sucker cup to keep on lifting the screen , some people broke their screen this way and they mentioned it on their battery review

Why is lifting the screen required? I removed the back cover to change the battery.
because the battery brand display the instruction this way

some users got mislead into thinking use the sucker cup can pull up up up all the way like open can of sardine

I recommend you all to skip Step 2. Its totally unnecessary. Need to be very careful doing step 8.

Actually is all within Taobao. From order to arrive is around 7 to 9 days. Good thing is battery ship with necessary tool.

You did it before? Which taobao forwarder do you recommend?

definitely faster before sometime will lag lag de

Not feel the difference but Mi Max is mainly used by my son as YouTube machine and by me as secondary phone for a bit of Chinese Entertainment (bigger screen and better battery life than my daily drive iPhobe 6S) and some app testing along with my Android TV boxes. So probably we are not taxing the phone. It has served us well and is still going strong.

Looks like no need to upgrade to Mi Max 3 yet, maybe Mi Max 4. Haha.

Just a question. Does the navigation button at the bottom of the screen lights up? I just bought a new mi max for my kid, and when it came out of the box, i updated it immediately to MIUI 10, and then after update completed, i noticed the buttons does not light up. Not sure if its due to MIUI 10, or its just a hardware issue with the set i bought.

Did that and still no lights. A hard reset actually sets all these settings back to the dafault value, so i guess its a hardware issue and I need to bring it back to the shop.

Apparently, the shop explained that the newer batches of mi max, and mi max 2, does nt have any lights for the capacitive button. Only the older batches have lights.

Can anyone confirm this?
