I dropped my xiaomi Mi Max earlier today and unfortunately created a dent to the volume button.

And now I can't control volume nor press the power button TnT

Try dismantle it and undent the button.
If you go to shop, i bet they will charge more than 50 dollar.

Just search a few posts before I posted to remove and replace it yourself is easy SLS has a shop that you can buy Parts for about 5 or 7 $ if no hurry order from aliexpress

Yes just called and they're quoting me 40 - 45 bucks. So expensive.

I've no experience in dismantling nor do i Have the tool to do so.

Just finished flashing LineageOS 7.1.1, no more Xiaomi bloatware.

The disadvantage is that no Xposed for Nougat, OG youtube can't access account without installing an older version + 3 apps with way too much permissions.

hows battery life and does gps work? xiaomi bloatware is not an issue with root can remove. I quite like the battery life on stock, up to 10h screen time over 5days

activate the double tap (in order to on the display)
and download screen off on playstore. and place the app on home screen so that you can off the display by hitting the app.

Keep it for spare part and buy a new one. New set are not expensive now.

U can use a plastic opener to open the back cover then bend back the button. I open mine before. Must start from below corner. Mine worst than you. Need to buy part from aliexpress diy repair..lol. maybe you buy the back cover then take the volume button out replace to old back cover.

of either 64GB/128GB sd card, I don't have to do
any Fat32 formatting with my PC.

All I need to do is to insert it into the phone and format the
card using the phone. Next step is, can show me how
to do the formatting using the phone? Thanks.

Din encounter any problems with my Sandisk 64gb. I just insert and reformat on my phone.
