Eu rom is not as good as global rom now in term of stability and bug-free as compared to last time.

Global rom has caught up well and very solid now.

That's why I stay with global rom now.
I think so too. Will switch back once global stable 9.5 for mi max prime is available. I just need to use twrp, clear cache and data to flash it right?

Yup!:s22:

If you are to use the Recovery rom of Global 9.5. (Not Fastboot rom of Global 9.5). You can just use twrp to switch from eu rom to Global 9.5 with clear cache and data for a total clean start with Global 9.5.

Use Titalium Backup Root to backup all your apps/data so that you can restore the data portion of the apps after switching to Global 9.5. Root is need, of coz!

**Note: The latest twrp version is 3.2.1.0 which can be downloaded form TWRP.ME.

If just USB socket issue. It can be repaired.
Some say it cost 30, some say 60. Assuming it's 50, that's like abt 1/4 of a brand new (with discount coupon). So I chose to spend a bit more get mm2. Hope it can last me another 2 years

Cannot Bro!

You cannot cross update from Beta to Stable rom likes that.

You have to do a clean install to Stable rom.

1st choice:

Use global 9.5 Recovery rom with twrp method.

2nd choice:

Use global 9.5 Fastboot rom with miflash tool method.

I sent you a few messages on Hangout, did you receive it?

Maybe when I free, I'll flash to Global Beta ROM.

To clarify:
1. This method only for Stable to Stable / Beta to Beta upgrade and TWRP recovery will not be overwritten by Mi Recovery?

2. For Stable to Developer/Beta or vice-verse, have to use FastBoot method and reinstall TWRP recovery right ?

1 >> Correct! Stable to Stable / Beta to Beta upgrade only! TWRP Recovery remained intact! You don't have to reinstall TWRP with this method. TWRP Recovery does all the upgrade process, not Mi Recovery.

2 >> Correct! Switching between Stable/Beta needs a super clean start! MiFlash with Fastboot rom is the best! Once using the MiFhash/Fastboot rom method, TWRP will be wiped out! One needs to reinstall TWRP for Root or for whatever purposes!

Hi all,

Recently my Mi Max has a few issues,

1) Battery charging slow
2) Whenever i connected to ear piece, during a phone call it will automatically mute or cut off
3) I cannot charge my phone in power off mode
4) I try to connect usb to my pc to do backup as I wanted to do a factory reset but it will just prompt USB device not recognized
5) I using Ampere apps to track my battery, I using AC adapter to charge but it will just reflect as USB charger

I have tried with different chargers, USB cables and also different computer and laptops but still the same.

Please help!!!

Since USB is not working, may be you can try to backup your data to the PC via WIFI using Mi Drop, then do a factory reset.
