I have some problem getting used to the Mi Max size. But after using Mi Max for awhile, now when I use the Redmi Note 3, it feel so small and handy.

But the usage of the Mi Max was made better because I use the "Ring thingy" behind the phone.

If you are on MIUI7 Global Stable 7.5.7.0 or any official MIUI7 Global Stable versions, you will not get any OTA for MIUI8 Beta...

Only those we are already flashed to and running MIUI8 Beta will get the subsequence MIUI8 Beta OTA!

I have some problem getting used to the Mi Max size. But after using Mi Max for awhile, now when I use the Redmi Note 3, it feel so small and handy.

But the usage of the Mi Max was made better because I use the "Ring thingy" behind the phone.

I slot my Mi Max at the back pocket now! No more kkj thingy!

As for the "ring" thingy....better keep in on bed..!Haha!

I was in similar position. Had a 5" phone. Looking at those two. Went for Mi Max cos I didn't mind trying the size. IMO, these phones are low cost enough that if it doesn't work out, can easily sell and buy the other one.

It depends on your own preference. If you are very very satisfied with 5.5", zero interest in trying anything different then stick with it. If you are curious about a larger phone, then mi max.

Just wanted to share another 2 methods of taking screenshot on mi max phone beside the usual one (Volume down and Power button)...

1. Screenshot button method of taking screenshot:
Go to the screen on which you want to capture screenshot.
Now, access quick setting menu.
Tap on to the Screenshot button.
Screenshot will be taken.

2. Volume down and Navigation button (Menu) method of taking screenshot :
Go to the screen on which you want to do print screen.
Press volume down and tap on navigation button (MENU) at the same time
Screenshot will be taken.

I was in similar position. Had a 5" phone. Looking at those two. Went for Mi Max cos I didn't mind trying the size. IMO, these phones are low cost enough that if it doesn't work out, can easily sell and buy the other one.

Another 2 method which I find easier is, totally no need hard button.

3. Add screenshot shortcut to quick ball. Just swap and take screenshot

Well...

The moment one activates the Mi Sound Profile in Headphone music mode, the volume drops to very low again and that you need to kill the Music app for the volume to come back normal.

So, it is still not fixed yet in 6.9.1.

Hi all, there's 2 questions I have for fellow mi max users:

1. How do I change the from default locked screen keyboard to the selected input one (Swype) to enter password for unlocking the phone?

2. After every restart, my wallpaper will always switch back to the default one instead of the selected wallpaper.

How do I rectify these 2 issues. I'm using Nova Launcher btw. Thanks in advance.

Go for mi max if you want something bigger. However, if you decided to stay with 5.5", why not look at the Redmi notes 4? It also has a large battery at 4100mah. To me, a down sized mi max. Price whiles is not a lot of different from the remi note 3.

Wanted to hoot 128gb one but seems like no global rom available yet

Me too looking at 64 or 128gb. Well, use 32gb first for the time being. Until when global stable rom is out then get the higher capacity. The best thing is this phone is pretty affordable, buy 2 of them is still less than the price of an iphone or a Samsung notes.

Yes, I also like to know whether there is a solution for question 1. But I think this cannot be changed.

Sorry bro, can't help you on both questions. But, I did not experience what u mentioned in question 2.
