Hi Bros,

Am looking at Mi Max as 1 of the alternative to replace my Note 7. Will be bidding goodbye to my note 7 this friday.

1st choice initially was Mi Mix, but the astronomical prices and kinda turn me off.

Hence Mi Max is what I'm looking at now.

So where are you guys getting your Mi Max at? What's the best price and place I should look at?

The phone is good, I have many phones, HTC 10, the old Desire Eye, E8, Sony Xperia Z3...I don't experience any lag or slow down on Mi Max. The Acer GT-810 with intel atom Z8700 CPU is less smoother than Mi Max. The older flagship like XZ, One M7 are noticeable slower.

Yeah! SD650 is a new chip and some say it is on par with SD801 of 2 years ago if not better!

I must say that MIUI8.1 performs quite well on SD650...

The price for 32GB is $349 with 1 year official warranty. but if you can live with shorter warranty provided by seller, the price can be cut by $100 or more. FYI, I bought mine for $194 during 11:11, after $30 discount with one month of seller warranty.

Your best bet is wait for 12:12 offer or if they join BF, this Friday. hopefully there will be $50 off $300. even then, you are looking at nearly $300.

Alternatively, Lazada MY have seller provide 1 years of warranty(not sure if official or seller) for ~RM800.

I believe 7/10 users changed to miMax from RN3 within months. Guess XM got the marketing right, making many buy 2 phones within that short time span.

There are other factors other than processor.

My previous mi note on 801 seems to be slower than my mi max on 652.

On another hand, 810 and 808 are the worst chip that Snapdragon has created.

Tends to heat up very quickly and lousy battery life...

Redmi Note 3 and Mi Max have been the best phones in term of price verse performance ratio for normal daily usage as well as for most of the gameplays.

Let's not talk about the camera. These 2 phones are not marketed for that top notch camera segment.

Having said that. The camera in day light is already quite good considering the price.


No regret. It's such a joy of using these 2 phones.

Speedy and smooth and beautiful MIUI.

Yeah note 3 pro SD and MI MAX the 2 best budget phone. But somehow performance wise although both same specs MI MAX still abit better. Note 3 taking photo in hot sun i did encounter hot temperature warning message.. the phone do get very hot... no chance to test with MAX yet
