Yup, just the padtv hd app.

Driver (t230 usb model) only necessary if using with pc as the t360 default firmware is supposedly to be for android.

Sent from Xiaomi REDMI NOTE 3 using GAGT

Better to get T230 model, see this post: http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/99135690-post932.html.
So no need for micro-USB to USB adapter.

I just tried with the MyGica T230 on Mi TV 2 55", couldn't get it to work. Think only the T360 can work.

PadTV HD cannot differentiate between T230 and PT360.
Does Mi TV 2 meet these requirements?

- Dual Core Android device with 1 GHz or up
- Android OS 4.1 or higher
- USB Host mode functionality

The thing I'm not sure is whether USB Host will be enabled without the OTG cable. Coz my testing with the tablet is with the micro OTG adapter.

The Mi TV 2 is Quadcore IIRC and should be higher than Android 4.1. But not sure on this "USB Host mode functionality" part. OTG cable should be just a normal adapter.

Do you have YouTube on your TV? Does the video appears laggy while playing? So far the YouTube video play back was fantastic on 1.1.70. Till somebody accidentally "upgraded" to 1.1.82.

Then the video playback on YouTube became laggy liao.

Sorry, no Youtube because I'm in China =:p
I can try it with a VPN later, but not sure if it requires root...

Hi all, has anybody tried to output the sound to both of the soundbar and AVR at the same time from your Xiaomi TV 2? I hope to be able to choose which speaker to use depending on the source that is playing at a certain point of time.

Thank you in advance...

I think it is quite straight forward for Xiaomi TV 2 but I'm not so sure about output to both the sound bar and AVR. An expert here pointed that it is only possible by using Bluetooth for the Xiaomi TV 3.

Cannot connect to network

Hi guys

I need some help again. My MiTV is not able to connect to 'network' though it is connected to wifi. In other words, there is no internet access. There were some issues with my router previously. When I got it fixed, then my tv has this problem. Any solution to this?

Can you please let us know :

1. What is the brand & model of your router?
2. Do you have another router that you can swop and test on?

I have this issue before, just go to network restore with auto ip setting

mitv2 can detect 2.4G and 5G, maybe you can try to connect to 5G band.
I also using N56U router, certain devices I have cannot connect on the 2.4G band.
eg ... My samsung Note2 cannot connect to N56U 2.4G band..

No. There is NO option to permanently disable the TV firmware upgrade notification.

The only way is to select "No" everytime the prompt to upgrade pops up. Sad thing is that if the prompt pops up when parent or older people are using, they may just blur blur and select "Yes".

That was how my Mi TV 2 firmware got upgraded from 1.1.70 (Best firmware so far) to 1.1.82.

*sigh* my parent just "blur blur" upgraded my MiTV2 to 1.1.92.
My TV used to be rooted ....

Mine can detect and connect but there no network access. I suspect is the network setting that causes this.

Can someone share the IP address setting with me?

Your Mi TV 2 still on firmware 1.1.70 right?

Technically you can block the Firmware OTA server IP and edit the hosts file by pointing the ip to local host at 127.0.0.1 or blocking the firmware OTA server ip in the router.

There is easier way for rooted mi tv to permanently block to OTA update, I am using this method so far so good, still remain fw 1.1.70. If someone still need it I will share later when I back home....

Did some reading up, OTG micro-AB pin 4 and pin 5 are shorted together for GND. So the OTG cable is needed. The USB male of the T230 only has 4 pins.
