I cant take a photo and send it directly in LINE.

Even attaching photos taken straight from camera in Whatsapp will also need to retry multiple times. Seriously, if this is what budgeted device about, it is not what I have in mind....

Any performance difference between the redmi and the 1s?

Used redmi before..found it really laggy.. does the snapdragon will improve the performance?

Are the issues only happening when connected to WIFI? I have similar encounters. But only when I'm connected to WIFI. On 3G, notifications come in pretty instantly.

Lags are still there. Problem is ram always not enough.

any suggestions to free up more ram without rooting it? :s11:

I have no idea. Upon reboot, I see ~300MB. But as always after using for few standards apps like Facebook, Whatsapp, Messenger, etc, the ram will always be stuck at ~170MB for my case. I need to do the cleaning process in order to reclaim free ram. As mentioned by some, I guess memory leaks are happening with 1s.

I think there's not much ways to free more RAM, maybe an update to KitKat for 1S may help as KitKat has better RAM optimization.

:)

try my official root method and install battery dr and only allow those program necessary to auto start and also for the battery to only allow those abv programs to cont running and kill off all other program when the phone goes to sleep.

this will reduce ram usage and also improve battery life

as for the previous bro, in terms of speed 1s is better than redmi just that think the os and hardware platform is not optimised. hardware nothing we can do, but software and os after the offiical root much better.

Don't feel like rooting my redmi, but I disable some apps running in the background which I don't frequently used and it did save some RAM usage.
As for battery life, I'm still evaluating, though I installed Qualcomm BatteryGuru app..

Not use with the disabling of start up apps. It is not just about starting up. Because once I used Facebook, Whatsapp, etc the available amount of ram dropped drastically. And it will just stuck at the ~120 - 150MB forever. I even see the red warning color with the ram indication sometimes. The MIUI is simply taking up too much resources and along with the memory leaks.

good hardware but poor software... well for $169 only something has to give... if we can install stock android, should be very much better.

qualcomm battery guru might work but some of the resources are by system apps hence without root abit difficult how i wish redmi1s comes with 2gb ram that it would be a mid end phone that will undercut and kills all budget phones le

then if they can come out with features similiar to yosemite (or samsung equivalent) to work seamlessly with their mipad and mi fitness band we might have a winner

interesting development for once a MIC product i dont might getting lol

Ditto. I'm waiting for the AOSP version for 1s.... MIUI is not for me. BTW, if I install another launcher, will I be able to have a proper app drawer? I really don't like the idea of dumping all icons onto the home screens like MIUI.

Getting ridiculous
after installing the new update version 31, when I went into Sound to change notification tone, there is a pop up "Declaration and Impunity" Read the applicable terms carefully before you use the product.... Do you agree its requiring network?

Change sound setting also need to access network??? now they also collecting info on sound notifications used???
