No need to buy, get those expired prepaid or dummy Sim if problem occurred. After my set had locked to 4G/3G network once, it didn't fall back to 2g.

Bad for low light. OK in the day. Try to disable HDR as it's slow which causes blur unless you got a steady hand.

Just get any old SIM, card it to nano size using a tool.
if no tool, trace the nano size from your 3S SIM card holder on piece of paper, then use pan knife to cut the normal SIM

the XiaoMi chap at Suntec store already confirm 2nd sim is on 2G liao.

Once rooted

Download Network signal guru app, Wand icon> band locking> choose LTE OR WCDMA ( depends on what you use) and deselect GSM 900

Fix 1 :

insert a 2nd sim and set SIM 1 as dialer and internet under settings

Fix 2:

Root your device and disable GSM Band

Nope,

it will not drop to 2G, that fixes the bug
, Previously the network keeps dropping to 2G ONLY, That is a bug that xiaomi is yet to fix.


redmi 3S SG Version only supports: 4G/3G on a single SIM the other sim will be 2G ONLY

from xiaomi SG Website:


When two SIM cards are used simultaneously, the primary SIM can support
4G calls and data while the secondary SIM can support 2G calls only.


it does not support 4G+3G

but only 4G/3G on a Single SIM

the other SIM will be 2G only which is useless once 2G network gets shuts down in April 2017

so use the other Slot for SD Card better

Seems like this can work, work hurt to try scince i set it to LEt/WCDMA and still have data. Mine only goes to 2G occasionally anyway...

Guys. If you are having issues receiving notifications from certain apps,(eg: Pushbullet)
Disable the permissions manager completely and that will resolve all notifications issues

Enable developer mode> additional settings>
Developer options>enable>
Scroll down and turn off MIUI optimization
Reboot device
Open security app>permissions>Gear icon>disable the first option.


The permissions manager is junk anyway..
