Hi, is it true that Redmi/Poco budget phones will become slow after 1 year or so and the hardware spoils easily? On paper the specs for Redmi13 and C65 look better than Oppo, Vivo, Realme and Samsung alternatives for RAM and storage capacity (prefer 256Gb or at least 128Gb) and the price is more attractive. Main use is streaming videos from YT and taking photos. No gaming. A lot of the cheap budget phones have low RAM. Will 4Gb be enough for the stated usage? Do all these brands have a lot of ads and bloatware?

It's cheap for a good reason. Software update is non existent after 1 year from release.

You can easily remove the bloatware and switch off the ads... no real issue there...
As Android progresses, 4GB is simply enough to get the phone working... you'll get a lot of awkward pauses, judders in the operating system as you navigate through it, including using the apps... I would say 8GB RAM is the minimum necessary for relatively smooth experience in the operating system... more is always better... so might make more sense to prioritize RAM over storage in your use case... you can always put in a microSD card to store the photos you take... but budget phones have pretty lousy cameras... so your photos will be pretty limited to day shots...

8Gb RAM and big batteries are the main reason why I am considering Redmi/Poco. The user I’m getting it for spends a lot of time watching YT but only changes phone every 4-5years. The other brands have few budget options with 8Gb. Some models actually have 8Gb variants overseas but they are not available as local sets in Singapore. I’m just concerned about the reliability of the hardware. The current phone is actually still working, only the power button is spoilt. It is an old model so I’m not sure if it is worthwhile spending $30 on repair.

Hi, need a budget phone for my uncle who drives PT phv and some light gaming.

Looking X6 Pro but, also any recommendation from Redmi is much appreciated.

Cuz the X6 Pro is using D 8300U, which I think is quite good for the price right?

Im quite tempted by the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus Fan Festival Edition. Looks quite nice. The MediaTek 7200 Soc should offer decent performance right?
