why won't u want to spend another rmb200 (sgd40+) for that extra internal memory 16gb and faster cpu? After my last phone on 16gb, I swear next phones must be at least 32gb or more, else will be busy clearing memory space lor...

i think not the same. redmi 2 battery can be used for redmi 1s. battery sizes are not the same. and the charger power input also different.

Battery size different from rm2 & rm note 3g/4g, is a new battery model.

tbh the cpu is insignificant. Depends on users ultimately, im not gaming on this, thus 16gb is more than enough for installed apps. The $40+ is better spent on a 64-128gb microsd for photos/video/media storage

Tbh, my primary concern is os stability (assuming I'm not into flashing) and battery life (ie. Base on os, does prime drain have a lower battery span as compared to note 2 due to the difference in chipset / miui os). Because I'm willing to spend that additional 40+, as long as the above concerns are not an issue at all lol

Erm the 799rmb work too. Essentially the 799 and the 899 are exactly the same. Just that 899 has fdd by default while for the 799 u need enter into engineering mode to enable the restricted bands.

Share a finding... How to get faster video decode speed... by underclocking the processor

Out-of-the-box my 16GB version chokes with the OP of [Coalgirls]_Shingeki_no_Kyojin_01_(1920x1080_Blu-ray_FLAC)_[AEF12794].mkv

But after flashing the latest rom from xiaomi.eu (currently 5.10.22), then using Kernel Adiutor to set both Big and Little cores to 1.5GHz, then setting battery power settings to Performance, much smoother playback can be achieved. (Plus some extra settings in MX Player that speedup a bit.)

AnTuTu at this setting is 40,000

So far those on 5.10.8 and/or above, have you ever experience your phone just freezed when its lock? First time this morning. I pressed the power button trying to unlock it, but it refuse to move. Remove batt and put it back, power up. Works le. A little scary leh...

65daigou i tried recently but parcel lost after custom. SGshop works well though took them 3 days from China warehouse to SG.

Hmm. I didn't experience it when i was on 5.10.8. You could try 5.10.22 if you want. Pretty smooth and newly added private folders feature(encryption).

I think i will camp for the MIUI 7 global stable build releasing on 27th. For me I am less adventurous, just need something stable than need functions.

Btw, "global stable build", does it mean all the android services are flash in by default like sg official release xiaomi phones? I dont really like those chinese apps which cannot be removed lor

As usual around 5hrs plus onscreen time with wifi. Standby has been pretty awesome. However, the wifi issue still persistent. Will occasionally get sudden drop in ping.

?? Only games and videos can't be removed. The rest i just uninstall all.
