but pull down the notification shade again shows 4g/3g.

could be bug.
You go to ' About Phone ' in Settings and go to ' Status ' to see if your SIM's connectivity mode~

Wife using Mi Max, which is pretty impressive for that price

Now need to get a phone for my boy for pokemon, can i get some feedback on the phone from current owners, many thanks

1. How long does the battery last on pokemon go using data and gps, using dual sim cards? sim 1 on 2g, sim 2 on 4g

2. Does the phone heat up badly while 4G is on?

3. Able to do multitasking with no lag, switching use of pokemon, chrome browser, pokemesh, in the background?

4. Whats the avail storage left after factoring the rom and system apps on a 3g ram/32g version?

My mi max dun show 4g/3g on home screen as well.

Can check from settings > about phone > status > sim status and toggle between both sims and see connection?

If this isn't a bug and really a new feature of RMN3 brought by MIUI 8 update, then yes it is~

There is a possibility that only marshmallow supports 4g+3g that's why mi max 32gb supports it and it is using the same processor as note 3.

Now note 3 is being tested for marshmallow so it should also support 4g+3g.
