My redmi note 3 just died(cannot charge) and service center claims that it's motherboard corrosion because i sprayed wd40 through the charging port. So... Are there any reliable independent repair shops for me to get a 2nd opinion?

It wld cost ard 180 to replace mobo at the service center

Not worth repairing. Suggest you buy 2nd hand. Plenty floating around, max $100.

Anyone got scratches on their screen?gave my sis my phone for one day and she returns me with some micro scratches on the lower right side of the screen.

Sibei dulan. Dunno whether she scratches the screen with her fingernail or by other foreign object. At first i doubted its fingernails as the screen is supposed to be scratch resistant but the scratch pattern seems too consistent and convienent for her right thumbnail to suggest otherwise.

Best part is i use for two years only one or two microscratches and she use for 1 day got many of these scratches.

I also got the problem when I'm using the phone. It's fine again after rebooting the phone. I think it's more of a software issue than hardware. Mine is a 2gb ram unit so it always happen when I try to do many multitasking. But it only happens like once a month.

Just updated. Initial experience is good. Immediately feels snappier, was not complaining in the past but any improvement is positive.

Android patch level Jan 2018! Nice.

How's battery life? I damn scared update lol cause every time new update got battery drain.
So far I read online if want android Oreo best custom ROM is nitrogen os
Main problem for me is GPS doesn't lock on at all. (literally useless, even tried custom GPS settings )

I like the update. Snappy. My experience is a well optimised firmware on any Android version beats a crappy buggy one on the lastest. Amazon Fire is on Android 5 but it is efficient and effective on a low CPU/ram. Unless there's a particular Nougat or Oreo feature, I'd say this is the best update so far.

For a sub $200 fone this must be one of the best.

Lol I didn't pay sub 200 though. Bought in around march 2016 and it was like 319 from challenger when it first came out. But now Redmi note 4x can get from qoo10 for like 169. Damn good steal.

Yes. Excellent upgrade and very snappier . Never notice any battery drain. Seems like memory mgt improve alot over all. 8 always out out memory
