Can't seem to receive the update. Is it because my phone is rooted?

Not sure for Xiaomi but for my Nexus devices, I cannot OTA if rooted.

Still on 4.2.2, noticed mail interface changed and seems no more disconnecting 3g signal (still monitoring)

for root u need to unroot in order to update via the OTA update

Don't know why can't work on mine. After downloading, my phone reboot and the mitu appeared with an error code. I tried twice and both times I had to long press power button to reboot my phone.

When I did the check update, it now shows me that my v25 is the latest version. Can't see v28 on the list anymore. Probably it was pulled for one reason or another.

I'm doing the full 558mb install. Hope that it works. The 51mb update doesn't seems to be a good move.

Will update when it reboots.

I did install the Restore update to remove that camera to sdcard patch.

At the update screen, bring up the contextual menu (first capacitive button - 3 horizontal lines) and select the update from there. It will download a 558mb file and that did the trick
