Thanks. Wouldnt mind to have a snapdragon 600 running inzide note
haha the snapdragon chipset costs a lot more i think

u see the price of mi4?

i'm pretty certain it's still a mtk 6592 in there, a $400-500 note wouldn't be of much use to redmi note supporters. i wouldn't pay $400 for a redmi note

What is the differences between the power saving feature under Setting - Battery & power option under Security - Power? Which one take priority?

security-power handles software modes. its marathon mode means it disables all your wifi, data connection, etc

setting-battery handles hardware cpu throttling

But there's also a CPU setting for high performance, balance, battery saving under Security, isn't that similar?

Next week probably, no need to rush to grab a redmi note. Most people will wait for the 4G version. Take note that it is single SIM for 4G version.

Wonder whether 4G version for 1S will be available.

Xiaomi already announced 4G version for China Unicom which use FDD-LTE like us be available from 26 Aug. Therefore we should expect Singapore to have it by Oct/Nov time frame.

It replaces the MediaTek MT6592 octa-core 1.7GHz processor with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core 1.6GHz proccesor. The Redmi Note 4G is also lighter at 189g. Other new features include the support for WLAN 802.11 ac, microSD expansion up to 64GB, MIUI V5 based on Android 4.4 KitKat.

Based on the specs sheet posted in the MIUI forum, the Redmi Note 4G supports FDD-LTE. This means that the device can be used in Singapore. What's missing on the new model is dual-SIM support.

The Redmi Note 4G is priced at 999 yuan (approximately S$200) and is available for pre-order in China. It will go on sale in China next Tuesday, August 12. At press time, there is no word on its availability and pricing in Singapore.

note that the LTE version announced is currently incompatible with singapore's LTE network; will need to wait for the FDD-LTE version that supports 1,800MHz & 2,600MHz

also, the LTE version is no longer dual-SIM, only single-SIM

Desire 816 with similar 5.5 inch screen, hd resolution, same adreno 305 gpu but 1.5 gb ram instead of 2gb, scores about 22k in antutu. Its safe to say MT6592 smokes the snapdragon 400 in terms of on paper benchmark results.

that's what i thought too, wonder what the actual results say

in terms of gpu perf, adreno 305 also loses sharply to mali 450mp4

in other words, the current redmi note is superior in hardware, save for lacking lte support

heh heh heh i'm breathing a sigh of relief
