Is there is difference in wifi signal strength for the chinese and english versions of this router?

No idea about this one but it does not make sense to buy the Chinese version of Xiaomi AX9000 since the price is on the high side due to low stocks. And it is much betetr to buy local versions with local waranty.

Hello guys,

I was planning to signup M1/Starhub for home broadband and was looking for AX6000 router. Can I just plug and use the router? or do I need to setup any configuration like VLAN tagging. Please advise. Thanks in advance !

No need VLAN. But when you change router you need to call M1 to release the mac address reservation of your existing router. Then you need to follow the Xiaomi setup guide to set up the router.

Select 2 (BB svc)
Select 2 (Tech Assistant)
Select 5 (unable to connect to internet)
Select 1 (Network reset)
Enter your M1 account number (need your M1 bill)
Enter a mobile number (SMS u once it done)

changed to a new router last month for my m1 bb service and tried the above but unfortunately there is no option 5 selection in their IVR now after going into the tech assistance, instead just selected another option (i think option 4) to get to speak to their cust service to tell them on the change of a new router and need their end to help release the mac address

the answer given when spoken to their staff was to turn off everything and wait for 5 mins, no issues with setup thereafter

Bgt this and the router webpage shows 0 devices connected even though I have several connected via wifi and LAN.
Unable to change/customise any LED colour with the Mi Home app.
Functionality wise, able to assign IP addresses, customise SSID, change PW, connect to the internet but am struggling with the interface. Router webpage does not show what devices are connected to it. It shows 0 devices even during and after setup. Which is unusual.
Am wondering if this set Is faulty? Have tried hard reset via reset button many times but to no avail.

Think M1 has move away from this, non longer need to call in to reset.

Something is wrong. Are you buying the local version? If yes then you can contact Xiaomi for support. Local version is supposed to have one year warranty by Xiaomi.

Went to Funan to seek help. They took back the router and offered a refund instead of a 1 to 1 exchange, citing no avail stock, but I see 2 units sitting on a shelf 4.5 meters away at the same Mi shop. Oh well....

It is okay. There are other shops selling Xiaomi AX9000 local version if you are keen.

For example, Lazada Cybermind was having offer a few days ago. Now it is back to normal price of S$399.

May I recheck. Can AX9000 work if plugged directly into SingTel ONT? Want to be sure before I buy as I do not want to use the SingTel router. Also because the stores I spoke to on Lazada and Shopee all says that I will need the “SingTel modem: to work with AX9000. Thank you.

If it is China version, it will not work.

If it is official local global version, it should work. Please refer to Page 10 of this thread.

But it seems to me there may be versions from other regions which does not support the Singtel VLAN profile. So it is better to avoid Xiaomi AX9000 as of now if you are using Singtel ONT and if you are worried.

Thank you for your advice. Yeah. Getting conflicting responses. So worried.

Would you have any recommendations for other AX models that work with SingTel ONT? Thank you!

All the Asus, Netgear, TP-Link and D-Link AX routers for local market will be able to support SingTel VLAN for SingTel ONT users. Linksys E series will also work.

Personally I will recommend Asus RT-AX86U (you can get from SingTel as it is exclusive to Singtel) or RT-AX82U. I am using RT-AX82U myself.

Notable exceptions: Linksys MR series or Velop series do not support Singtel VLAN. Google Wifi and Google Nest wifi also do not support Singtel VLAN.
