Not truthful to what is posted on the Mastercard conversion rate.
Unlikely is SP or else other cards may be illegally charged too.My YouTrip card just got fraudulent transactions... those Facebook Ads and Metapay transactions... but luckily i got lock the card when not using... so all kenna declined... and YouTrip auto suspend the card... very quick response from YouTrip customer service... send them a message asking if those transactions went through through the app... they replied within 1hour... and confirmed those events and offered to send a new card...
Funny thing is... this card is relatively new... last yr Oct then got it and i used it only in Korea in Dec... and twice to pay utilities through SPservices app many months back... how did they get the card information? Either my card was skimmed when i was in Korea or SP kenna hacked liao?

Did you swipe the card in korea? Most probably this is the reason. Good that u lock the card when not in use.
yah, very hard to guard. many hackers kenging how to charge to cards. haha.Yes i did use the card extensively in Korea... i mean card usage there is so broad... anything also can use card... even those $1-2 vending machines can use... but i dun particularly noticed anything unusual...
Nowadays so hard to guard against all these nonsense... really the good thing is YouTrip can lock when not using...
it's not leaked by SP for sure... the hackers are randomly generating from some codes...
My UOB KF card gotten last dec also kanna fraudulent transaction(ChatGPT type) in April... and the only merchant that I used that card was Scoot... LOL...
Anyway UOB has launch investigation and send me a replacement card after I file fraud dispute with them....
Just check your statement or transactions from app frequently will be good... or activate notification for every transaction made if the bank/service provider offer....
did u link metapay / facebook ads to youtrip? usually online transactions need to swipe on youtrip apps before it gets approved. that's probably why these transactions were declinedYah i set notifications for every transaction... but funny thing is this MetaPay and Facebook Ads charges that was declined was not reflected in the app or got any notifications... I only get to know abt it after YouTrip sends me an email notifying me regarding these transactions...

aside from card skimming, mobile apps might be another source of leaks if u had linked credit card to their payment systemNope… I did not use this card for anything else… this is my card for overseas usage only… I only use it on SPservices app after I return from Korea to reduce the amount I keep inside… after using I lock it Liao… never touch or use it at least for 4-5 months liao…

yeah ability to lock & unlock card is very handy. why other credit cards didn't add thia feature?
cos credit card can file dispute... prepaid/debit card can file dispute but hard to get back the money cos the money will be removed from the account immediately upon transaction complete...aside from card skimming, mobile apps might be another source of leaks if u had linked credit card to their payment system

dunno how it works. thought each transactions need bank side to approve, so considered charged though merchants only received $$$ later?I think card locking is useful for debit cards primarily... coz users and merchants knows the exact moments of usage...
But for credit cards... if locking mechanism is used... it will be disadvantageous for merchants... since some services are charged only after some time and not at the point of usage... There is a reason why some hotels and car rentals strictly forbid use of debit cards...
ya can dispute but troublesome as maybe oversea when fraud transaction happened. also need to constantly monitor, no peace of mind.cos credit card can file dispute... prepaid/debit card can file dispute but hard to get back the money cos the money will be removed from the account immediately upon transaction complete...

used youtrip on BKK MRT, it wasn't immediately charged until few days later.

sometimes lose card just wanted to quickly lock card via apps. I'm sure u experience the hassle of going thru helpline just to get it done.
and how many minutes during waking hours do we actually use cards? less than 30mins or even less.
by locking outside these hours makes it more difficult to fraudsters & i believe will greatly reduce such fraud transactions
