think u should try to feel how it feels when it drops further then to get u mentally prepared if **** hits the fan

Okay, that would be like writing off my entire equity portfolio. So my networth becomes 515k. That will take me to mid 2015 levels. So 5 years back. But imagine that level of wealth destruction means what to the entire world. Even GFC with 50% crash properties fall 30% and large scale job losses. A 100% wipe out of equities mean like 1929 depression levels. If the whole world is in depression and then everyone is same same, it doesnt matter.

I think you went in too much, too soon.

Just my point of view.

Maybe he still have bullets!

I used my bullets too soon, so now don't want to risk any more bullets, according to my risk tolerance and modelling a 50% drawdown, my allocation is appropriate. Any new salary savings, though will be added to equities. So if this take a long time, and if I have my job, then it should be good to DCA at lower levels.

Down quite abit as well, been nibbling here and there the past 2 weeks, but looking at how things are turning out, may want to magnify the nibbles into chomps.

Liquidity (in SSBs) is my limiting factor. Have to wait a full month before I can unlock more cash from SSB sales

I am doing a stress test of my portfolio.
Networth about 2 days ago: 926k
Equities: 412k
Fixed income: 515k
Equity ratio: 44.44%

A 50% drop in equities from current levels and assuming no increase in allocation will take my networth down to 721k. Ouch! This was my networth in Feb 2017. So it pushes me back by 3 years!

So to check risk tolerance, how does it feel to push yourself back by 3 years? It is like 3 years with no savings and no growth of networth. Networth stagnation for 3 years. Sounds bad, but it doesnt sound devastating.

I did a risk assessment as well to check if my entire equity portfolio and risky bond holding are wipe out, I will be left with 650K-725K.. Glad to have a job at this moment.

I started out allocated 2 currencies (USD & SGD) for my portfolio in this year,
SGD for continuous passive income -> property rental (~3%), Nov15 SSB (~3%), cpf SA (~4%).
USD for stock invest only, Fixed the principal. approx usd200k. Just doing re-balance and re-pricing just like do mortgage loan reprice for a better rate. It is painful to see portfolio value significant drop, but optimistically my holding numbers also had expanded.

Went thru various crisis beyond y2k, and even the worst scenario happened on my entire usd equity are wipe out now. I still have the SGD allocation.

Best for all in current situation, stay mental and physical healthy and don't kena caught by covid19 :)

You are doing well. Many people of your age are not even close to this amount. Now you have this looming crisis to take advantage of.

Could be better if it's a dual income family.
We're in our 37/36 and our networth are almost double of his (all inc. cpf).
And we're supporting our parents.

I think he's the only breadwinner in his family so that's quite an amazing networth.

No no, OUR networth.
Combined is <2M.
Hope to hit 2M by next next year, considering the covid19 might affect our earnings.

When I was your age, I was worth maybe $100K. So congrats to both you and your wife.
