the problem is after 31st Dec 2023, lets say they really revert to 1gbps. then its $53 a month. shouldn't they give us no-frills pricing at $38 instead?
$53 is so much for 1gbps for today's pricing standard across all ISP.
My guess is they will confirm the 10Gbps plan.

The MyRepublic 10Gbps plan is based on 10G-PON, not XGS-PON like starhub? Can anyone confirm this or have info saying otherwise? :spin:

https://myrepublic.net/sg/legal/fixed-broadband/individual-promotions/fixed-broadband-10/

MR is using Nokia XS-250WX-A (Black) which is a XGS-PON. I think it is the same model used by Starhub. But then it is configured as an ONT and not an ONR, as per their website.

Would like to ask all the master Sifu here.
Currently i'm using the Singtel 1+1 Gbps Fibre Pro Gamer bundle.

Actually the current plan already expired more than a year and now i interested to sign the Singtel 10Gbps plan which is cost $79.72/month compared to what i paid now @ $70.56.

I'm happy with the 1+1Gbps Pro gamer bundle and since is only about $10 different, i dont mind topup $10/month for better internet speed for sure.

Does sifu think is worth to topup $10/month for 10Gbps and Asus AX11000 Pro router?

Thank you in advance

The router alone I’ll just go for it already, ax11000 pro performance is very solid. Since you Paying just $10 more only, why not? Hahaha can get 10gbps or not is not the problem le, is the hardware that will improve your coverage and throughput.

Interestingly SingTel also drops the price of 10Gbps plan to $79.72/mth
(U.P. $137.72/mth) with 24-month contract. And they also throw in the top of the line GT-AX11000 Pro WiFi 6 router. So yes it seems to be of GOOD value if you like either the router or the 10Gbpd plan or both.

The only catch is that it is using an ONR. I do not know the exact details of the FW features of the ZTE ONR used by the SingTel 10Gbps plan. However I am pretty sure it will be customized by SingTel and with quite limited features. Maybe it will be the same as SingTel GPON ONR where you can not even set up 3rd party DNS.

You may want to check with SingTel and I bet SingTel will ask you to set the GT-AX11000 Pro in AP mode, causing it to lose many FW features.

If you set it up in router mode, it will cause Double NAT and you may lose some features like like AIcloud, Asus DDNS and VPN Server. Maybe there is a workaround but I am not sure.

In this aspect, it is a downgrade from 1+1 Gamer bundle plan where your RT-AX86U can be connected to the officially bridged ONR port. It will run as the main router and retain all its features.

Still the good thing is that we can be pretty sure that majority of the 10Gbps plan from ISPs will be at S$60 to S$80 now that SingTel has lowered its 10Gbps offering to just below S$80.

Ya, you actually got the point. Even just the router itself already worth to upgrade:love:

I'm assuming Singtel will allow the AX11000 Pro to be set as router mode, as there is bundle of wtfast Gamers Private Network service? This something similar to my existing plan which come with wtfast services and allow me set my Asus GT-AC5300 as router mode instead of AP mode. i might be wrong as i'm not a network engineer or network pro like all sifu here😅😅

Signed up for Singtel 10G last Saturday.
Received SMS today that NLT will be checking tomorrow morning.
Installation will be on Monday 21st.

Gonna pay for early termination for my current Starhub 1G line.
Totally CMI.

For my Starhub 1G line at least, initially few times a week will auto disconnect in the afternoon.
Recently, all website accessable but unable to access/ping google.com until I restart the router.
Regret jumping over from VQ to Starhub.
Now gonna just early termination and jump to Singtel with the promo price.
