so err guys the price you see on booking.com and agoda, airbnb, etc is really the price u pay right? no hidden credit card charges thingy unless u choose pay later?

really need to know exactly how much im spending for my trip lol

cause i used booking.com, my bank account say figure A but usable amount is figure B which is lower?

i assume booking.com is holding the money for now until i reach hotel then pay the hotel?

is it also the case for agoda, airbnb, etc?

from recent booking :
1) Expedia (pay now with CC, online) - there is a 0.8% to 1% DCC (except for AMEX) on your CC stmt
2) Agoda (pay now with CC, online) - no DCC
3) Agoda (pay later with CC, online) - subject to FX fluctuation, may or may not be in your favour, no DCC
4) Agoda (pay later at hotel, charged foreign currency) - subject to FX fluctuation & some places have surcharge for using CC (eg Bali)

cannot remember for Booking.com or AirBnB - seldom use them.

I just chose pay now, the price indicate is sgd price, as agoda office is in Singapore.. And that the final price....

Booking.com hotels usually don't hold $ for payment at hotel, at least i never notice before - how much difference in your bank ac did you notice?

If you refund into giftcard, it will be in usd. And may be higher than your actual refund amt due to exchange rate. I earned $2+ from a $131.xx refund. Lol.

But the risk is giftcard cant be transfered to bank acct or cc once confirmed. And it has a 1 yr expiry date. And can only be used for some hotels. Luckily, it works for jap hotel.

Same same. Agoda refunded my dispute into gift cards.. but they gave me 2 gift cards instead of one. Abt $50+ more than what I had paid. So chop chop use it up. what

You using debit card? Hmmm 500 is a lot, (i think) usually they won't hold more than one night cost.

idk why the amount still havent deducted yet even though booking is confirmed

checked my bank account and 505 SGD is deducted instead haiz

why am i not surprised

Might be service charge, tax at that country. Email them to have an understanding or breakdown on their deduction.

Perhaps this is why i only buy from agoda. Cheaper, fuss free and i pay for the amount that i see on booking page. Usually, booking.com is more ex than agoda for the hotels i checked. Unless Agoda ran out le and only left with booking.com

Cannot compare Airbnb and Agoda, they operate differently.

Anyway, u need not bold your words, we can still read it fine.
