Hi Guru,

I am thinking of upgrading my my stock audio.
I’m going to do it once, do it right as all some guru mentioned.
I cannot decided which amp to use for my set up?

Will be going to the shop for the setup:
Pioneer 5250
Helix DSP 3
Bewith Reference AM 2 way
Zapco ST 1000XM II
Rainbow Vanadium 12” Subwoofer (used)


Which amp should I choose to power my Bewith 2way Speaker?
1. DLS 44 CCi
2. DLS 4 CCi
3. Mosconi AS 100.4
4. Zapco ST-4X

Hi,

Any expert here, can advise on the dsp and mono amp setting?

My question, i have a mono amp control by dsp do i still have to adjust my lpf from the amp to the set point as same as dsp setting, example 80hz was set on my dsp setting do i adjust my amp lpf to 80hz too or turn down all the way to 20hz?

Question on a recommended setup. My car stock comes with:

1. HU
2. Amp (cannot change, can only add amp)
3. Doors - mid, tweeter
4. Center speaker on the dash
5. Underseat subwoofer (8") x 2
6. Rear doors

As a disclaimer, I'm not looking into high-end setups, I mostly listen to the radio as my drives aren't long except when I drive up north, then I playback FLAC from my phone via Carplay. Usually more towards vocals, jazz, etc. Looking for something better than stock (which are already rather decent). Was advised of the following setup:

1. HU - retain
2. Amp - add either Helix V Eight/DSP or Mosconi 90.8
3. Front doors - Micro P 5 series
4. Center speaker - Morel (can't remember model), or leave as stock
5. Underseat subwoofers - retain
6. Rear doors - retain (not used)

Also to soundproof front doors. All together around/close to 4k.

Alternatively, I could leave everything as-is, and go for the MicroP 3 or 5 series, using stock amps to drive (as they are easy to drive speakers). That would be from 1.2 to 1.7k

Any suggestions?

Note: I did listen to a couple of brands such as the Helix, Focals etc. and found the MicroP to have really good clarity. Of course if there are other brands I should try that would suit the setup I have in mind, appreciate if you can propose. Thanks

Changed my car and dekitted all my audio stuff onto the new car.

My question is: all the settings from my HU have been ‘reset’.

Is there someplace where I can go just for a sound professional to tune? Of course I can walk in to any audio shop to request for this but I’m pretty sure not many will want to entertain since I’m not ‘buying’ anything.

Yes I am willing to pay for this ‘tunning’ service but am not expecting to be ripped off.

Any recommendations?

I'll be switching to a hybrid car soon, and considering if I should transfer my amp and speakers from my old car.
Will this affect the petrol consumption or any other impact as hybrid car battery is only 12V and no alternator. Thanks.

The question here is ... you paid an installer to put up all your gear into your new car right ... why did you not get this installer to tune as part of the package?

How much would you be expecting to pay to not be ”ripped off”, btw?

current setup
2 way active with helix 2 ways competition c62c (helix C 1T & C6B) and ground Zero amplifier+dsp and subwoofer Carrozzeria (pioneer) subwoofer TS - WX 70 DA

i would like upgrade to 3 way active with added in midrange and change out the dsp amp

intended setup
1. use back the 2 ways helix C 1T tweeter & C 6B woofer
2. add in focal utopia M 3WM midrange
3. replace ground Zero amp dsp with helix v eight mk2 8 channel with dsp
4. use back carrozzeria subwooder TS-WX70DA

is the setup/matching ok?

So I have been shopping around for new setup..

Was being offered two different set of setup:

1: Focal PS165FX + Pioneer DEQ-S1000A + Pioneer active sub
2: Focal PS165FX + Focal FPX 4.800 + P 25 F

Both at the same price, need some advise from the experts in here. I would think that option 2 would give me better bass while option 1 will have better SQ? Sorry if my terms isn't right haha.

Also, for option 1, do I still need to change to aftermarket HU since there is a Pioneer DSP already?

Focal PS165FX + Focal FPX 4.40SQ + P 25 F instead.

Good enough for carplay or android auto. But the usb charging is of regular variety aka no fast charge

Thought of changing out my current Pioneer WX130DA underseat sub to passive 12” Boxed woofer with amp.. Anyone got any recommendation?
Prefer budget within $500+ with labour and don’t mind used ones.
Currently setup is 3 way Focal PS165F3 speakers and Audison AP4.9 amp with processor

Thinking of Rockford sub though.. Any good amp to pair it along with?

Radio problem SOS!

Just installed andriod hu from online purchase. There is radio problem i wish bro can help.

The stations can be preset. it is strong and actually search out about 40 over stations.

Problem, whenever at a zone where there are other frequencies, it disrupt my radio then my station will hop to another. Common place is carpark gantry, everytime enter, it goes distorted and possible station hopping.

Anyone solved this before?

Last time.. speakers are like after thought for normal cars...
now.. everyone .. also use 6-8 speakers ... bose or some brand one..

they also tuned for the car liao..

If u go listen, it's quite nice straight out of factory liao..
