I have absolutely no idea.

I just buy the SVIcloud box and watch everything from their pre-installed LUCA VOD app.

the money is yours, it is ok for you to waste $200+ more to buy an inferior box.

fyi, mibox is only $65.

There are so many "downloader" app from playstore that I don't know which one.

no. downloader is an app.
if you are using downloader, you can install emotn store directly.

if you know how to manually install apps, you can go to emotn official site to get its apk file to installl emotn store.

make sure that it is not china version.

the global version should have netflix button on the remote.

check this out you should get a fairly good picture how to setup for google tv to sideload apk
After that get sendanywhere apk from sendanywhere official site for android and you are ready to receive app
from anywhere and anyone.

After that go to https://send-anywhere.com/
and installed the sendanywhere android version and then msg me i will send you the code for setting up iptv as well as vod.

these are certified googleTV boxes, they come with premium vod apps such as netflix, disney+... etc

but if you want to use free vod apps, you can install yourself.

it is quite easy to do it.

1. install downloader from playstore.
2. start downloader, enter 96142 and press go.
3. press download button to download emotn store and install it.
4. open emotn, key in 202096 as share code.

there are about 40 vod / iptv apps. most are good, try some of them, delete those you don't like

not to install too many apps as your box will be slower, so uninstall those you dont need or dont use it often. e.g uninstall downloader after using it.

if you can't install emotn via step 1-3, download the apk file from the official site and install using thumbdrive.

most dont need login.

some can log in by creating a random account, using fake email address.

there are 40+, you dont have to install all, 2 - 3 should be sufficient for most people.

My uncle ended up getting svi but it’s empty inside like a legit android box. Is it supposed to come with the lifetime live portion? If so what is the name and how to get it?

My Svicloud 3 Pro isn't totally empty. Has LUCA VOD, Youtube and a few other apps preinstalled. Never explore other apps. I only use LUCA VOD to watch all the free movies, dramas, animes, etc. these past 3 years.

the last i use UB box, i will never get a tv box again. Since i have a smart tv google tv, I built my own iptv and is as good as any tv box can provide if not better.
I can now sideload my chinese iptv which come with live tv from HK TW SG and MY. As for VOD there are a few good one around Nivod and newfast are some of them.
Those with smart tv with google tv can try on your own

first you need to built a playlist and in txt format, m3u as ext to the file is also ok
eg myiptv.txt or myiptv.m3u
Then in the txt or m3u file the playlist go this way
eg
Movies,#genre# (Name of category,#genre#)
HBO,http://whateveriptv.com/hbo.m3u
History,http://whateveriptv.com/History.m3u (Name of the program,the URL)

Once you have the playlist up you can load to a website ( free webspace will do) or put the txt file in the folder of the app.

lately i noticed that both of my mibox s will auto shut down overnight.

it doesn't behave that way last time...and i did not tingle with any of the power/sleep settings.

i have also tried going thru all the different settings and it dosn't seems to fix the problem.

There could be several problem.
1 it could be over heated device.
2. there is a malware that automate the shut down
3. There could be a automate shutdown within your device which was schedule to shut down at a certain time.
If in the day time it didnot happen to shut down then the over heat issue may not be the cause.
it is probably a shedule time shutdown.
