Hi catzombie,

You can purchase an additional pair of WiFi Mesh 4930 units at any Singtel Shop.

It will cost you $15.00 per month and will be charged to your monthly bills for 24 months.

After 24 months, the WiFi Mesh 4930 units are yours to keep.

singtel came to change my 4920 to 4930. same range performance but faster speed i would presume. i had told them multiple times to bring extra but just brought only a pair again.

Does +Surf / +Serve at orchard central got 4930 for rent now? or do they still have only 4920? to make another appointment would mean having to wait for them another time!!!

Hi. I’m currently on singtel miotv and Fiber broadband. Up till today my connection is

Fiber point -> ont-> singtel router-> airties mesh 1-> (wireless ) airties mesh 2 -> miotv.

I had this set up because my master bed room have no data point and the mesh system worked well with my mio tv.

I wanted to replace my singtel router to Asus 88u. So my setup is

Fiber point -> ont-> Asus router-> airties mesh 1-> (wireless ) airties mesh 2 -> miotv.

I did enable vlan tagging in the router and connected my airties mesh 1 to port 4 of my Asus router. But my miotv is not starting up. Is there a way I can setup without running any trunking or using the singtel router. Please advise. Urgent. Thanks.

Do you guys switch off the Airties unit when not home?

No, I don’t , and that includes my routers unless away for days on trips.

Wondering how much electricity bill will I save if I off these devices for that few hours daily when no ones at home.

I usually switch off the extender unit when I know I'll leave home for more than 5 hours but it suddenly unpaired itself yesterday. Wasted some time pairing it again when I got home. Thinking of not switching off anymore...

Hmm, kind of strange to me too..

Maybe the Airties units are running on different firmware.

Yeah, the extender unit had 2 flashing red lights after I switched it on at night. It was fine in the morning. Does it mean it'd unpaired? I managed to pair them up again anyway.

then you might wanna monitor again, my guess is that the nodes might have lost connection due to firmware update and thus a reboot might work instead..

Hi lazyabd and negativzero

Our Fibre team will update the firmware from the backend for you.

Kindly provide your Singtel ID and NRIC numbers through PM for them to follow up please.

Thanks.

Wait... What kind of control freak policy is this that you have to give you NRIC to request for a firmware update?

This is 1984 distopian level kind of stuff

I just recontracted my singtel 1 gig internet and am going to collect the Askey meshes this week.
I am currently living in a 5 room HDB (those old type so relatively larger then Bto) and was thinking of getting an additional +1 mesh... So it would be 2+1=3

Was wondering if 3 meshes be an overkill? Because my furthest bedroom is a living room and 2 bedrooms away

"Our Fibre team will update the firmware from the backend for you." - So obviously to do that they would need the personal details of the customer to be able to track the account..etc?

What kind of mentally challenged freak can't even understand that?

My issue is why does SingTel even need to implement this convoluted way to update a router firmware. Can't they be like everyone else and have the software update on its own or if they are lazy provide a update file to download instead of having to bug them every time they is a new firmware

my guess is that they only want to provide firmware to singtel subscribers. They don't want to support people Who bought the device from carousell or somewhere else.
