Hi Guys,

I am currently watching Singtel MIO TV in my room using Singtel ADSL (I have a telephone point in my room).

Singtel will be terminating its ADSL soon and I plan to switch to Singtel 1Gbps Fibre. As I still want to watch MIO TV in my room, I intend to sign up for Singtel Mesh. From Singtel website, AirTies 4920 works with Singtel TV.

Would appreciate if you can share your experience using Singtel Mesh AirTiles to watch MIO TV in your room.

Thanks.

Singtel airties does work with singtel tv, but provided you are able to achieve good optimal wireless connection between the nodes. Anything that is wireless will be subjected to physical constraints, which you will need to take note..

If I were to receive an ONR from Singtel, does it mean I can connect the primary Airties node to the ONR directly and don't have to use the AC1900 AC Plus router at the same time?

of cos... ONR doesn't require a separate router, and that all 4 ports can be used. so your airties can connect directly to ONR..

Samsung connect home will have better user interface and features comparing to airties in my opinion. If you using Samsung galaxy phones, can also use the built in interface to connect to connect home nodes..

Airties will be pretty much basic but operational performance..

The Samsung Connect Home wifi gets 228mbps in living room and 180mbps in bedroom based on this article. My d/l speed in living room with Singtel AC1900 router alone is 350mbps so this seems like a downgrade. http://www.straitstimes.com/tech/pricey-mesh-router-so-so-performance

The Airties 4920 while not great seems to perform better here and comes with 3x3. https://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/fea...-singtel-wi-fi-mesh/performance-conclusion-17

Hi guys, need Help! One of my airtie device is connected to my dlink router (wifi off) and the other one is in another room. It is working well but I still have a deadzone in my house.

Can I use airties as a repeater instead? I.e. turn on wifi on my router and use the 2 airties as repeaters of wifi signal in the house ? Actually, I’ve been trying to do this today but can’t get them to pair with my router... am I doing this in vain?

Thanks and sorry for the noob qns :)

Yes in vain.

They won’t work as repeaters. What you can do is to relocate the mesh nodes far away from router and have the wifi on router turned on. The first node has to be connected to the router and you must find a way to do it.. :D

Hi guys, I bought a pair of AirTies with the latest firmware off Carousell. One of the airtie device is connected to my dlink router (wifi off) and the other one is in another room. It is working well but I still have a deadzone in my house.

I am using both the Samsung Connect Home and Airties Mesh.

My personal preference is the Samsung Connect Home, which also has a built-in IoT hub. I am currently running quite a few smart home devices in my residence.

why cant Singtel just make the fw public?

I need the latest fw too and It's weird and annoying that Singtel needs to "private message" the firmware link instead of just putting the link to public.

why do they need to make it hard for everyone to get the latest fw? just pathetic.

these devices are outdated when they came out. The only favor Singtel can do for their paying customers is to provide regular updates and make it available easily.

Hi guys, need some help to setup the AirTiles WiFi app. Have tried it already on iphone as well as android tablet. Just could not get it to setup at all.

Each times the message is "Can not find any AirTiles Nodes connected to your Gateway".

My Singtel Airties mesh set is working fine. I'm using it. The router wifi is off at the moment. But even if it is on, it also did not work. Router is not standard Singtel issued but the Aztech FG7008GR. But even if I plugged the mesh set into a Singtel issued router at my relative's home, I couldn't set it up either.

Any setting on the Mesh set or Router that I need to do?

Any advise is much appreciated.

for the app to work, you need the mesh units to be running on the firmware version which supports the app. You can ask singtel to send you the firmware privately..

Thanks for your reply, renfred89.

Both mesh units are on version 1.33.6.3.150 which I think is the latest available version.

However, I just couldn't get the Airtiles Mesh WIFI app to work. Still trying though..:)

Hello renfred, guess what? The reset works.. :s13:

I guess I must have forgotten to reset the mesh units after updating the firmware. The only painful process is to repair the mesh units and to setup the whole network again.

Now the Airtiles WIFI app is working and I can see the network. :)

Thanks for reminding me to try resetting the units. Silly of me not to have thought about it.:(
