Well considering it is one of the cheapest mesh wifi kits u can buy - u get what u pay for lah. it works well for me cos i have wired LAN backhaul

Yes Askey/Airities can be pretty okay if you can use Ethernet Backhaul.

But they may only be the cheapest if you need SingTel TV box support.

If no need SingTel TV support on the mesh node (you can still connect SingTel TV box to the ONR or the free SingTel router through wired connection), there are much cheaper solutions:

1) TP-Link Deco M4 AC1200: S$88 per pair now, usually S$99 per pair. Buy 2 pairs only S$176.

2) Deco M5 3-pack is better than M4 and only at S$198. Two pack at S$149.

3) Huawei AX3 Pro+AX3 (AX3000): around S$85 + S$45 =S$130 or less.

If you can not use Ethernet backhaul, then you can consider Deco M9+ triband, two pack at S$258, only slightly more expensive than Askey/Airties.

Anyone knows where to buy airtiles. I need 1 more node to extend my wifi coverage. Singtel currently offering wifi mesh in pairs which I do not need so many

You should be able to buy extra unit from SingTel. You can call 1609 to buy, or WhatsApp SingTel Support at 90181688.

It is reported in this thread that you can not get from Carousell as they are pre-paired and not compatible.

Can I just piggyback on this and ask if the Deco M9 Plus can be used directly behind the SingTel ONR with ethernet backhaul (plug n play with app setup)? Not replacing the AC router since it is a already working fine with Singtel TV, maybe will switch the wifi off and use WIFI off the Mesh if it works.

Yes that will work.

ONR -- SingTel AC Plus -- SingTel TV box
ONR -- Deco in AP mode (main node)
ONR -- Deco Mesh node (Ethernet backhaul)

Since you can use Ethernet backhaul, you can opt for the cheaper dual band Deco M5, no need the more expensive tri-band Deco M9+.

I just gotten Linksys E9450 and Singtel Mesh Router but it seems that the mesh router is performing better than E9450 using 5g and same distance.

Is anyone facing the same situation too?

i have this weird problem with my singtel home broadband and askey mesh pair..
each time i switch on or off my PC (sharing ethernet with askey backhaul), the 5GHz LED on my mesh will turn red.

my PC internet connection will randomly drop off all of a sudden, where i cannot reach any website... i can either wait for it to recover in a couple of minutes or manually cycle (disable/enable) my ethernet adapter in Windows, doing so, i will see the 5GHz LED goes red for a while and then back to green.

Anyone knows why?

Are you using ONR or ONT? If ONT, what is the main wireless router used?

How do you connect the Askey? Is the problem from the very beginning or only developed recently?

Do you have SingTel TV box connected to the mesh node? If not, just forget about the Askey and get a more stable mesh solution.

Thank u. I had reported few months back and they replaced with new mesh. The rebooting became less frequent but still occur once in a while.

The switching on of tv still cause red lights on 5G.

Maybe the Mesh are lousy

Try contact SingTel technical support using WhatsApp 90181688.

That one is for sure. Unless you need Singtel TV box connection with the mesh node, avoid Askey/Airties.

You can ditch the AC Plus and connect the Singtel TV box directly to the ONR.

ONR -- SingTel TV box
ONR -- Deco in AP mode (main node)
ONR -- Deco Mesh node (Ethernet backhaul)

ONR4----TV

Ah, I am using the AC Plus as a wired switch for my Sonos Beam and the Singtel Mio TV.

The Deco I'm gonna be placing opposite the TV facing the corridor of the flat, and one more in 1 of the Bedrooms that faces the common WC. Hope can get WIFI through the WC window into the Service Yard.

In your case, actually you do not need to use the Askey at all as your SingTel STB boxes are directly connected to the ONR. For example you can sell the Askey units and replace them with cheaper Deco M5 or Huawei AX3.

Still you may want to double check if your connection between Askey01 to Askey02 is good. Supposedly you are using Ethernet backhaul but it might be still using wireless backhaul. What is the speedtest results from your PC?
