Want to give some info to those who want to transfer SGD to TD using DBS.
Dates and time given are all SG.
22 Nov 2020 (Sun) - Sent SGD from DBS to TD's DBS account.
24 Nov 2020 (Tues) 1400 hours - TD received my funds at a forex rate of 0.7443.
25 Nov 2020 (Wed) 0000 hours - Received funds in my account.
According to investing.com, the historical forex rate is as follows:
24 Nov 2020 - Low: 0.7434 High: 0.7455
23 Nov 2020 - Low: 0.7426 High: 0.7462
Given the above info, the rate given by TD is quite good as it lies in the middle of 23 and 24 Nov.
I really like trading on TD because the software TOS is excellent, even though it does not look good. No hiccups at all and loads of data and tools for you to use. On top of that, commission-free trading makes things so much easier especially when I create my own spreadsheet to record my transactions. No need to bother about fees or charges, just share price x no. of shares.
I have another account with Fundsupermart. The trading experience on FSM is not good and Not enough tools and data to use. Also, they only have 'Limit Orders' to execute trades. Sometimes when I want to trade fast, I cannot use 'Market Order'. Updating my spreadsheet is also more troublesome due to various charges involved. System is also not stable like today (25 Nov 2020), I cannot log into my account around 2pm. The positive thing about FSM is the transfer of funds to the trading account. It is instantaneous when you use FAST.
I also have an account with IBKR but have not used it yet. Maybe those who have used it can share their experience compared to TD.
