Thank you. What a pity. What is stopping TD from offering LSE?

No idea. Hopefully Charles Schwab acquiring TD can allow us to trade worldwide. If all major markets with no fees even better. :s12::s12::s12:

But I think that's daydreaming. Maybe Charles Schwab don't even bother about SG market.

Want to give some info to those who want to transfer SGD to TD using DBS.

Dates and time given are all SG.
22 Nov 2020 (Sun) - Sent SGD from DBS to TD's DBS account.
24 Nov 2020 (Tues) 1400 hours - TD received my funds at a forex rate of 0.7443.
25 Nov 2020 (Wed) 0000 hours - Received funds in my account.

According to investing.com, the historical forex rate is as follows:
24 Nov 2020 - Low: 0.7434 High: 0.7455
23 Nov 2020 - Low: 0.7426 High: 0.7462

Given the above info, the rate given by TD is quite good as it lies in the middle of 23 and 24 Nov.

I really like trading on TD because the software TOS is excellent, even though it does not look good. No hiccups at all and loads of data and tools for you to use. On top of that, commission-free trading makes things so much easier especially when I create my own spreadsheet to record my transactions. No need to bother about fees or charges, just share price x no. of shares.

I have another account with Fundsupermart. The trading experience on FSM is not good and Not enough tools and data to use. Also, they only have 'Limit Orders' to execute trades. Sometimes when I want to trade fast, I cannot use 'Market Order'. Updating my spreadsheet is also more troublesome due to various charges involved. System is also not stable like today (25 Nov 2020), I cannot log into my account around 2pm. The positive thing about FSM is the transfer of funds to the trading account. It is instantaneous when you use FAST.

I also have an account with IBKR but have not used it yet. Maybe those who have used it can share their experience compared to TD.

Thanks for sharing the details. May I check if you indicate your TDA account number during the transfer? It seems that there is no comment section for me to fill so.

u dont u understand hiw u can have IBKR account and not started using. TD Ameritrade takes a few months to process. during which time normal trader would turn to use IB as myself. applicatiion approval took a day and funding anither day. If not for my friend telling me about IBkr i will still be using local brokerage and paying $100 commission per trade.
Maybe thats the reason TD cannot take anymore local investors who are feeding phillips or Vickers??

You need to, if not your funds may go missing. On the "Transfer Funds to Another DBS or POSB Account" page, you can see "Comments for Recipient". There is enough space only for your TDA account number so no need to type anything else.

After first transfer of fund, is there anything we need to do to activate first trade? When I submit buy order (below my cash amount), it shows "You have no permission to trade in this account".

Not for me. I traded the same day as the funds were credited into my account and no hiccups.

I applied on 26 Oct, last night called TD to check on the application progress. This morning, received info the W8 form was filled incorrectly. Now, not sure when the a/c can get approved.

does anyone know what's the difference between "Charts" and "Flexible grid" tabs under "Chart"?

Secondly, if I set SMA for example, I noticed it only count "bars", which means if I zoom in, it give me 200-bar SMA instead of 200 day SMA.
This is problematic eg If I am viewing the 1 min chart but want to see the 200 day SMA but tos shows 200-min SMA

How do I set it to count days under the length parameter?

Erm, the indicator depends on the chart that you are using.

If you're using daily time frame, the 200 period will be based on days.
If you're using 5 minutes time frame, the 200 period will be based on 5mins.

And that's when the flexible grid/charts come into play.

In 1 screen, you can set up a few candlestick chart. On the left side, u can use daily bar, on the right side, you can use minute bar. It's up to you to customize!

And the difference between flexible grid and chart is, flexible grid allows you to place your chart in a more flexible manner. Like you can have, 2 on the left 3 on the right.

As for chart, you can't exactly 'customise' the size of each chart.

Hard to explain via words. Will be better if u google for images.
