Hi Guys
Any traders can help me with my think and swim desktop platform. I got the watchlist set up nicely. The problem is whenever I click on the stock code, the right hand side charts and options do not display the stock!!
When i click on the bid and ask prices, it bring the trading table up for with the charts and options still showing other stocks. Totally confusing and costly mixup!!
I have never seen this kind of a mess before .? Am I missing something .
appreciate all the inputs

Here’s a tip for newbies , TDA Singapore runs online webinars on how to use their TOS Platform, you just need to watch the video replays stored on their website.

To answer your question, here’s the details from their FAQ.

“How do I link a watchlist and chart?

Pull up your watchlist in the left sidebar Gadgets. In the upper right-corner of the watchlist, click the chain link icon to the right of the symbol entry box to select a color. Next, pull up Charts tab and choose the same color by clicking the same chain link icon to the right of the symbol entry field. Your watchlist and thinkorswim® Chart are now linked so you may easily scroll through or click a symbol on your watchlist and it will automatically populate on the chart.

You can utilize the linking feature throughout the platform such as on the Trade tab, Analyze tab, MarketWatch tab, and Tools tab.

Just want to check something on funding my new account. I saw this in the faq...

What is the minimum deposit required to open an account?

There is no minimum amount to open an account. We recommend people start with at least USD$3,500. If you do fund with at least USD$3,500, we will rebate your wire fee up to USD$100. You need USD$25,000 to actively day trade, USD$5,000 to sell options naked, and USD$2,000 to have margin capability in your account. At a minimum, you need at least USD$500 to receive live real time data.

I have a DBS Savings account in SGD and will be using this to fund my TD account. Can I check if there is any service fee to fund the account besides the usual Forex rate?

I was thinking of funding the account with SGD first and try to understand the live data first. However I also saw this which makes it attractive to fund the account with up to USD$3500.

Transfer at least USD$3,500 to your TD Ameritrade account from your bank or another brokerage firm and we will rebate the transfer fees up to USD$100. (Offer valid for the initial funding only for new customers.) To get your rebate, just mail or fax us a copy of your statement showing the transfer fees from your bank or previous broker.

If there is no transfer fees then I don't see a need to transfer funds to make up the USD $3500 just to take advantage of the promo.

Any way to avoid their horrible FX rate when withdrawing from TDA to SG bank account?[/QUOTE

why is the FX rate horrible? I dont know about TD but I did the forex change in IB and their exchange rate is better than interbank from DBS.! Never change your us/s$ with local bank. you lose 5% for nothing.
Golden rule for sgp traders. Best to have 2 account in sgp unless really small account under $10k . Both TD and IB offers excellent platform.

1. dont put all your eggs in one basket.
2. open accounts are FOC and anytime one has breakdown you can still trade with the other account
3 must open a DBS multipler account- it is free and let you keep and transfer USD fOC to anywhere in the world.
2. if intent on closing account, change to sgd$ at US brokerage before transfer. their rate are the best.
3. With DBS mulitper account you can send money out FOC. in coming USD remit is charged like $10 to receive USD from oversea. example from Td US banks.
4. IB is great in that IB has a local USD account with DBS so all transfer of USD are FOC for dbs multipler account.

1) There is no minimum to open account but you will get only delayed 15 min quote. Total waste of time. just deposit $500 and you get real live stream.

2) promotion us $3500 refers to transfer from one competitor brokerage to TD. Not relevant and gimmick as easier to just close trades , close account and transfer the balance to your bank and then fund TD.

Can somebody tell me if TD has this Portfolio Analyst like in IB. I cant seem to find it.
This analyst is really is an excellent summary of all your tradings and benchmark you against key index. It shows which of my trades are profitable which are losers. which trades should i avoid and which trades I am strongest,
A must read after each month,

Once u know how to link it is a powerful tool. You can select like quick chart to view "Tesla" while main chart to view "google" just by changing your watchlist link setting as show in the picture below.

In the picture, my watchlist is set as [1], together with my 2 charts. But in the quick chart below the watchlist, it is link to [2] yellow.

With that, i can choose to link 1 chart to [1] and the second chart to [2], in this way, you can compare different chart with a single click to the linking.

i have circled them all in red for [1] and [2] in yellow to illustrate the point
