Also, is there any tips/hacks to lower the commission fees to ~$5 for stocks and $1.50 for options?

Hi fellow traders,
i have been trading options on TD for a few months time, turned red initially, now doing relatively ok... :s13:
i have plans to set up a day trading options group chat, to discuss daily watchlist, hindsights of the market, trading strategies. Do PM me if you wanna join, purely for Singaporeans only, and most importantly ITS FREE.

Hope all of u out there stays green amidst the market turbulence! :)

lower comms fee

So i have received some PMs from a few of you out there, asking how to reduce its comms fee for trading. Personally on my side, because i have only funded around 3k+ initially, the options fee incurred on my side was huge. For each trade that i made: 1 buy limit order, and 1 sell limit order, i have to pay for $10.60 + (no.of contracts*per contract fees)... so each trade amounts to $20+
+ USD at least.. To reduce it, you will have to write in an email to TD, explaining your situation and telling them its a huge burden on your end and hoping they can reduce it lower. They were really helpful and mine got reduced to $1++ per options contract with no min fee. (so is i trade 4 contracts, is $1.3*4 for a buy order, and $1.3*4 again for a sell order). Relatively for stock trading you will also need to email them.

Because im a new user in this forum, i cant reply to your PMs so if any other queries i will reply here, or u can contact me on telegram @sixtfoot1 :):s22:

yes of course no money involved in this chat. I'm creating it on the basis to learn also. There could be some stuff that i not aware that probably you all do so we share and trade together! Of course trying to keep it small and efficient. Yup and bro u can contact me we can share knowledge.

hi guys, is it normal that TD takes so long to approve a new account? I’ve submitted my application 2 weeks ago and haven’t heard from them yet.

Yes you might have to wait for a month, they said that they have a lot of applications and it seems to be the same case for other brokerages , I applied on 18 May 2020 and it got approved on 23 June 2020. If you don't meet the car requirements, you need to do the sgx sip quiz and email them. Also they may take like a week to reply emails.

Thanks for the recomendation. I wrote in TDAmeritrade and got $1.50 for option trade and $6 for stock trade. Is this standard? But how come you got $1.30... for option trade. You lucky or other strategy :).

Hi Guys. Want to know your opinions. Why did you pick ToS over other supposedly cheaper brokerages like (e.g Saxo)? ToS has 10.65 transaction fee which is quite alot compared to Saxo's 4 dollars?

For my case I started with TDA and very reluctant to change since already familiar with how the system work and the customer service is good. To be familiar with a new system will take some time.

TDA is flat fee. Saxo can be more expensive on very large orders, and not forgetting the custody fee of 0.12% p.a.

Hi all,

got a question for TD account holders who transferred SGD from their DBS/POSB accounts to TD's DBS account. I understand from TD cust svc that TD uses a preferred FX rate given by DBS to convert the SGD to USD. So my question is, on average, could you give an estimate of the % difference of this preferred rate as compared to published rates on DBS's website?

Anyone has withdraw $$ from their Thinkorswim account. There is a field called “transaction authorisation code” when initiating a wire transfer. Anyone know what is that ?

i think last time when u first register for the account, you were prompted to enter a code of your choice as authorization. you can call TD and ask them about it.
