Can I check what are my options to wirelessly connect the YSP2200 subwoofer?

Or if wirelessly connect using third-party add-ons is not possible, is there a quick connect and disconnect kit that I can buy for the connectors between the subwoofer and the main unit?

My apologies, YSP-2200 runs on a passive subwoofer. And by far, i have not came across such possibilities to run them wirelessly over third-party add-on accessories.

If there is, i will keep you posted. But i think chances are very slim. Hope you understand.

Then for the cabling part, is there any good ways that I can quickly disconnect the cables? As the cables are copper strips, it isn't robust for repeated connection and disconnection.

Hi Jimmy,

I'm afraid no other better ways. The speaker terminal doesn't comes with Banana plugs terminal. Hence you cannot use Banana plugs as a better solution to do repeated connection & disconnection. Some customers use soldering themselves to keep the cable strands intact. Might be another choice for you.

I've using the RX-V363 AVR (old basic model, decodes only DD and DTS) and recently bought a Sony BDP-S4100 blu ray. They are connected via digital coaxial.

I bought my first blu ray disc. The case says that the main feature track comes in DTS-HDMA 5.1 and DD Plus 2.0, while the special feature track comes in DTS 5.1 Surround.

I can't seem to get DD 5.1 on my AVR when I play the main feature track, but am able to get DD 5.1 when I play the special feature. Why is that so?

I would like to get DD 5.1 from the main feature track instead of resorting to using Pro Logic II (which seems to be the only option). What should I do?

Hi,

I think your player audio settings are not done correctly. You may try to switch off the HDMI Audio and turn on your digital audio output to Bitstream. How to do so, i cannot advise you, but you can always find some similar topics in your owners manual of your player. Check the Audio Output options you have on your player. This will solve your problem.

The basic difference in the two subs are basically:
- Active Subwoofer has it own power or amplifier source built into the sub.
- Passive Subwoofer has no power or built-in amplifiers, usually has to be connected to an outside amp or receiver for it's power.

Whether a subwoofer is passive or active isn't the determining factor on how good the subwoofer is. However, Active subwoofers are by far the most commonly used as they have their own built-in amplifiers and are not dependent on any amplifier limitations of another receiver or amplifier.

Most importantly, before purchasing a subwoofer, make sure to check if your receiver or amp or sound projectors have a sub pre-out or sub out.

Not to worry, if you are purchasing our sound projectors like our YSP-2200 or YSP-3300/4300, it comes with a subwoofer, so that should ease your problem.

Soavo series is our flagship speaker by far and it's passive.
You will need to get an amplifier to drive it.

Enough for music/movie or not, it depends on individual preferences. Some would like to have a 5.1ch setup to hear the "real" surround effects in a movie title. Some would prefer just to boost more dynamics in a stereo setup for his movie experience while his priorities is more in stereo playback of musics.

You can audition them in our showroom to understand what it can do and to decide how you would like to use them. Every product is a good product, be it from any brands or manufacturer, at the end of the day, user must enjoy listening to it and the features must benefit the user experience in his lifestyle usage. That will justify for the worthy price to pay for the product he made.

Hi Chai,

We do not do demo for our soavo series with our entry level amplifiers as our Soavo series of speakers require a high power output amplifier to drive. We do have all the speakers available here in our showroom. Why not you head down to our showroom so we can discuss more regarding your set-up.

I'm using the YSP-4300. Would like to know if there's anyway to verify the settings (distance, speaker level, angles...) "decided" by the IntelliBeam method? Like, how do we determine manually the distance between various speaker's positions and the sweet spot?

Hope you are enjoying the YSP-4300.

Yes we can determine manually after the auto calibration has been done. All of if can be manually done through the settings as well. Do check out page.61 of the user manual for a more specific calibration.
