At this price, you could almost get 2x HD7 for the price you pay for a Yoga 8 ;-) . Sometimes, it is not good to think too much, just hoot and move on.

if US$129 = $160.... then, US$119 = <$150 each and Yoga is at $449.....

I know....... HD 7... like my Tab 2 7" have no stand, and that's why it keep slipping even if on a case..... I agree.... guess I should just "HOOT"..........

I know and that is why I got the transcover Amazon.com: ASUS Official TransCover for MemoPad HD 7 ME173, Black: Computers & Accessories which is supposed to do the trick. This should also put you above the $125 mark so you get free shipping. I got something similar for my iPad and it works.

On the side note, I hoot a couple of cheap shorts thinking they could use it to semi protect the hd7 but they decided to ship them separately via UPS and the hd7 via I-parcel. Those shorts also dropped by twenty-ish cents each, I guess I shall not bother claiming for price match for those.

$449 is Yoga 8" with 3G ... not that u need it of cos.

Can this tablet handle these tasks well? Able to view at least 720p without stressing it? Been tempted by the current amazon offer but no international warranty

From what I understand, 720p video should not be an issue. I guess at US$119 (~S$150ish), it is about S$100 cheaper than the Singapore sold unit at S$249. So definitely a steal.

720p vids are of no problem on the HD7
There are plenty 1080p ones on my mSD card, all of which run perfectly

You will want to replace the default video player however

I saw that too. I thought I saw a white on discount but realized it was last years model.
